New Relationship Milestone for Me...A BIG ONE!

Oh Labor Day Weekend...you were ever so much fun! Too short tho...definitely. While one friend is now engaged, another takes a pregnancy test, a new one starts a new relationship, and well for me...Cj and I declared that we are going to move in together!! Amongst the other drama, while folding a blanket for a drunk friend who stayed on my couch, Cj and I came to terms that we will be taking that next step! Our drunk friend was like "Aww I just witnessed a relationship milestone...yay!" Yup and all I have to say is..."Woohoo!"

It isn't going to be tomorrow or next week but it will be soon other than later. Now my shower liner blogpost is really important to me. Cj tho had a big car repair bill a lil while ago so when he finishes paying for that we are going to take that plunge. Right now he's actually sitting on my couch playing a video game...I guess this a taste of the real life living together. It's awesome by my standards. I'll have to always keep French Vanilla Coffeemate in the fridge but I can more than do that! ;)

This will definitely change things for him and me. Our identities, I think, are going to be the most in jeopardy. CJ and I have become a "we" and an "us" but we can't forget who each other are deep down. We mustn't change who we truly are in this whole process. I've often felt that I've lost myself a lil in this relationship but even just acknowledging that helps me bring it all back to focus. There has to be a happy medium of understanding, compromise, and listening to each other's needs and above all else, sharing. Of course there's been other 2 only children couples that have lived together but this might be a challenge for us sometimes. However I'm up for the challenge. This is going to be an awesome test run for the rest of our lives...I'm strangely comfortable with that.

 I wonder tho if he'd bring his cat....erm...we definitely have to talk about specifics...definitely.

I wish I had his and hers sinks but that could be a goal for the future. The future...I smile a lil bit more brightly about it. Cj at some point this weekend told me he loves me a lil more each day and it erased the noisy bar around me and all I saw was him and all I felt was his kiss. I love him so very much and maybe this move is exactly what we need right now...Maybe....

 What's something I SHOULD KNOW about him or SHOULD ASK him about before the move in? What's been your experiences?

The Best Part About Having Your Own Place!

The Best Part is Decorating...During my week away I did a little decorating and changing. AH the beauty of being able to just change your mind as easy as snapping your fingers and get a new comforter...or finding a lil home for a butterfly bear...getting a priceless ceramic container for your hair clips...and taking a comforter set and making it your own is ALL part of the fun.

I forgot to keep going with the decorating and cleaning and organizing my new condo but now it's like I never stopped. The creativity and inspiration came and I just wanted to share with you a few lil images of new stuff I have in the place. =)

Ohh when I go to dreamland tonight it is going to be a happy sleep. I know I was supposed to write about a few other things today but I just had such a great day that I HAD to write about it!

Firstly it was Pay Day!! Yeah! My mortgage hasn't started yet so I can still enjoy actually have some money in my bank account. February 1st I start my budget hardcore. Oh yeah...I have a lil time left to buy some things.

Well at work I got a mini treat because I discovered that I won Diana over at Express-O's Heart Necklace Giveaway from Fox House!

I can't wait to get this necklace! It's beautiful! I love the clasp & it's so different! Thanks Diana for running the giveaway! Your a sweetheart!

Then I went to my parent's house for a minute & found out my Mom found me an Record Album Frame. Yes I do collect Old records but only special ones...like the Soundtrack from "The Graduate" with Dustin Hoffman.

 

It has all the Simon & Garfunkel songs from the movie, especially "Mrs. Robinson". How I got this you might ask? PURE FLUKE! I found it at a garage sale for a $1 about 3 years. It's a lil raggedy on the edges but it gives it more character I think. Now I gotta figure out where to hang it? =)

I finally too got my mirror hung up with Cj's help but NOW it's actually hanging straight. I got the mirror from Ikea. What do you think?

To conclude this awesome day I went to Ac Moore to pick up some stickers when low & behold  I found  a print I had been looking for in every Home Goods I could I find. The problem with Home Goods is that NO STORE HAS THE SAME THINGS! I saw this print once & I didn't buy it because I thought it was expensive. When I changed my mind & decided to go back for it, of course it wasn't there. But in Ac Moore I found it.

 

I think it goes perfectly with my Red Motif! =) I love how her dress is flowing. It's the Couture Magazine cover from September 1960. I love it. I'm so glad to have it!

I love that scene in the movie, "Beetlejuice" when Delia & Otho go through the Maitland's house and basically want to change everything.  I wonder what they would think of my lil home. =)

As I prepare for the next winter storm by stocking up on wine, chips & salsa I thought I would share with you guys some pics of what I've done so far with my new place & a draw-back. I received my refrigerator on Tuesday and was sooo excited for it. Everything was coming together but alas things weren't so perfect. I didn't take all the plastic off until I got home from work & I found that there was a HUGE DENT in the refrigerator door. I've calmed down from the insane anger rage state I was in, like seriously if I was in an anime cartoon my head would be huge & red & I'd have horns with lil puffs of smoke radiating from my head. Here's a pic of the big dent.

Thankfully however the replacement refrigerator is coming tomorrow. AND hopefully the snow won't be too bad to delay it. =)

I did manage to get a desk, my bed, & a couch set up so here are some pics for the time being. =)

This condo has been a lil overwhelming at times but I asked my mom to help me & cj so it should continue to come together nicely! =) 

Where have I been?! Updates! =)

Absolutely. Cj was right next to me giving me my FIRST New Year’s Kiss. Somehow the New Year’s Eve kiss always ran from me years before. For 24 years I never got it at midnight. But ringing in 2011 I did get one & it was the perfect way to kick start the New Year. HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVERYONE!

 Where the hell have I been you ask?

Well when your life drastically changes in the end of the year you’re going to feel mini spouts of panic, you might cry, you could become a frazzled disaster area, and it sorta will feel like you’ve awaken from a brief coma where the whole world is different. BUT moving out of your parents’ house & having your own place is priceless. Needless to say I’ve had a few awkward days in the new place.

I was lying on my new bed(pictures are too come later this week) and I couldn’t catch my breath for a few moments. I have gotten panic attacks so I’m assuming this was one. I went into my bathroom & splashed water on my face & drank a bottle of water & eventually calmed down. The refrigerator that I thought would be a rockin blew out when I plugged it in so I had to buy a new one. An extra expense I didn’t want to pay. 

There will be 6 months Free Interest on it tho so that’s awesome. I need to buy a new kitchen faucet. It spurts water everywhere when you first turn it on. I accidentally stepped in Dog Shit on New Years Eve however I realized it before I walked into the condo. I have a bit of a keeping pointless stuff when I should be throwing it out problem that hmmm…uhhh that needs  a whole post. The complete submission to how tired I am has become my master. I’ve drank so much coffee in the past few days that it’s a lil sickening. After all of this I really needed some help.

I don’t know what I would do right now if it wasn’t for my family & CJ. My mom is going to stay home for me tomorrow to get the refrigerator. Thank God! CJ is going to help me move the rest of my stuff over from my parents & my mom is also making sure I remember to breathe. It’s all so different & the weight of all the responsibility has hit me. I even paid my first common charges tonight. It’s real. I just gotta take it tho one day at a time. 

Big changes but I need to take small steps. I’m all ready for this New Year & I want it to kick start it! I’m actually looking forward to a normal work week. Some normalcy I think would do us all some good. I’m going to post some pictures of what I’ve done soon. It somehow happened that my color scheme is cherry red. I like it very much. I’m going to need your guys help with a toss/keep post & other things I’m looking forward to in the New Year! So much to come! I'm taking the bull by the horns & pushing forward!! =)

What a Nightmare...

When it comes to owning your own home there are going to be "One of those Days...". I'm in one. BIG TIME. Everything was going sort of okay like I saved a whole bunch of money in Bed Bath & Beyond when I bought a new shower head, but then it slowing went down hill from there. It started at Ikea.

My Mom & I went to Ikea & began to fight because I said the food court was on one level but she wouldn't believe me so she had to prove me wrong but I was actually right because low & behold the food court was where I said it was. NEXT thing, the bookcase we bought wouldn't fit in the car, so we had to return it for right now. They didn't have the legs for the table I wanted because you have to assemble EVERYTHING & buy everything SEPARATELY so I got white for white instead of white & red. But all in all it was alright.

THEN....I go to Guitar Center to buy CJ a gift & buy it. Buttt then I looked at the package & it was all dog eared & ripped. I figured that's why the guy just pulled it from the shelf & didn't let me look at it. I had to return it.

Ohhhh yeahhh so I didn't realize at this point that I didn't have my phone. Until I got back to the car. I frustratedly looked for it but then decided to go back to the store to find it. These two people saw me looking in the path to the store & said, "Did You Loose a Phone??". Yeah I had. But my phone got run over or something because it barely works. FUCK!!! Yeahh...

THEN I start putting together the Bed Frame my Aunt Mary gave me for the mattress and GUESS WHAT?? It's for a Full bed NOT a Queen Sized Bed. Sooo I can't move in tonight. Greeaaaaaaaatttt.

I really haven't ranted on this blog for a while so I apologize for this, but it's been a Nightmare of a Day. I think I need a drink.

I’M BACK!! & I’m Now a HOMEOWNER!!

…There’s no place like Home…

YES!! I FINALLY closed on my condo & I GOT MY KEY!!! The past few days has been an absolute whirlwind from all the condo stuff but I happily did every part of it!! On Friday, December 17, 2010 at 4pm I signed enough papers to make my hand almost fall off BUT when I walked at of the small office with the lawyers & title people I had my very first key to my very first place!

Ever since I can remember I wanted to move out on my own & start building home for myself. The dream is now a reality. I can’t believe it. I walked in & I was like Omg this is really REAL!!! WOW! I ran over from my parents, oh yeah the condo is in the same development as my parents, and just jumped up and down with joy. 

Well enough chatter, Here’s the pictures of my studio condo! It’s a studio but the kitchen is a separate room AND there is 3 CLOSETS!!!! Ohh yeah! My bedroom at my parents doesn’t have a closet so I’m in 2^nd heaven with the closets! It’s on the 2^nd floor on the end & I have my own door to the outside! =) Here we go!

I will officially move in on Wednesday because my mattress will be delivered. I started cleaning on Saturday & did find out that the kitchen sink is broken but that’s okay I’ll fix that ASAP! I’m going to paint & finish cleaning & moving things in. I'm definitely going to be posting about my progress with everything!! Can't wait to show you more!! I’m so happy!!

I just got home from CJ’s family party so I’m exhausted! I’ll be back tomorrow & back to my regular posting! =)

FINALLY I have a Closing Date on My New Place..AND IT'S THIS FRIDAY!!!

YUP! You read my title of this post correctly! After almost 5 months of drama I will FINALLY get to move into my CONDO!! I am beyond exstatic I can't begin to describe!! The closing will be this Friday at 4pm EST. I got the news yesterday and have just been bursting at the seams hoping to tell all of you! This has been such a dream of mine for soo soo long and it will actually be a reality. Wow. I really need to start packing!!!

It's so surreal. For a while I honestly didn't think it was going to happen. Something seemed to be fighting me on it & I was just about to give up all hope. BUT the night is darkest before the dawn sometimes. Omg I have sooo much to do now!! I have to figure out paint colors, get food, turn on the electricity, get my matress, buy furniture, get the furniture people promised me, get stemware, and Ooooo I'm SO EXCITED!!!! This isn't the first time I'm going to be living on my own but living in a dorm is nothing like having your own actual place. Or rather Home. I'm going to be able to say "My Own Home." hehe =)

It's a studio condo on the 2nd Floor of my parent's condo complex but its free laundry, low common charges, and my mortgage payment is soo much less than I thought it would be! CJ told me he would help me with as much as he can to get everything liveable too!! I can't wait to get in there and take pictures of it to show you guys!! I'm going to need tons of feedback & definitely some styling help so stay tuned for more!! I gotta go do some more cartwheels so I'll be back tomorrow!!! YEAHH!!! =)
