30 Day Blog Journal...DAY #6

I was doing this 30 Day Blog Journal a while back and I thought I would return to it. I love letting you guys know more about me because I feel like it makes me more real.  I'm also currently working on a video blog post too to say hi! I hope you all are staying cool in this heat in the U.S. right now!

DAY 6 - 20 of my favorite things

20. Long Earrings! I love them!

19. The beach…I wish the Jersey Shore wasn’t so crowded & expensive now. I’d be there all the time.

18. New clothes that actually fit. Damn you TJMAXX. I’m obsessed.

17. Coffee. I love my Keurig! Thank u CJ!

16.TV shows that grab you hook, line, and sinker you!! =P

15. New York City…I love walking those streets with all the window shopping and different people. It’s always an adventure and an experience

14. Cupcakes…Decorating them, making them, eating them…adore them…I can’t wait to teach my Cupcake Class in the Fall!! Yeah!

13. Learning to cook. I used to just make reservations but not anymore. Slowly but surely I’m learning how to wield that spatula. Things may still look messy but they taste delicious. Taste down…Appearance next!

12. Writing my novel. People aren’t kidding when they say it’s hard to write a book even if it’s something you know about or even if you’re constantly writing. Originality is key.

11. Super market shopping with my Mom. I know that sounds lame but it’s our like “Review our week” time and we laugh about what song is playing while we’re picking out produce. Why would you play “Stairway to heaven” in a supermakert?? Why?? =P

10. Ice skating in the summer. An ice skating rink is my favorite place to be in the summer because it is so freezing cold in there!! I have no balance in walking or dancing but somehow gravity allows  me to ice skate without falling.

9. Falling asleep next to CJ. He scoops me up to him and I just fall right to sleep. It’s my favorite moment with him.

8. Couponing. I’m not an extreme couponer just a professional one. Um..hmmm….I’ll explain in a future post.

7. Collecting trinkets. I have anything from Marie Antoinette replicas, to Smurfs, to fancy vintage boxes, to old clocks from Bangkok. I need to have my own studio one day to decorate. It is a must.

6.  Going to the Events. I do the whole nine yards. Comic-cons, meet & greets (I’ve met Molly Ringwald, Pat Benatar, Linda Hamilton, Chris Jericho, most of the cast of NJ Housewives, Dan Akroyd, and a whole lot more), Renaissance Fairs, conventions…anything I can get a ticket too. Love it.

5. Mango Sorbet. Especially Haagan Daz. Yummy!!!

4. My dear Blog that is almost 2 years old. Happy almost birthday! You have brought me to places I’ve never been, let me talk to people I’ve never seen, and learn more than I can ever imagine!

3. My job. Yes, my job. Recently I fell in love. It was the right choice at the right time and I love the complexity of it.

2. CJ…I love him so much.

1. My family. I have such a small family and I love them more than anything. =)

Oh Oh...I want some more...Oh Oh...What are you waiting for??

This week was a blur. It rolled by so fast! Last night I took a mini trip into NYC with CJ to go see a filming of Comedy Central Presents. Alas I couldn’t take any pictures but seeing a live filming of anything is always awesome. I might be on TV because they did move us a few times because the same people can’t be on camera for two consecutive sets. I will watch for it on TV & then see if I can get screen shots from it if I was on it!! =) It was funny the camera on the boom almost hit us on the head because it was so low. The comedians were okay but it was funnier seeing a guy tell us to applaud & laugh in the background. Kinda like the guy in Shrek & the wedding with the Awww sign.

I’m at work because I was just so tired after I got home yesterday so this is going to be a short post! I will continue with 30 Days of Awesomness! Be sure to check out my Sunflower Cupcake Post too! CUPCAKES!

Day #5: Your Favorite Quotes

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
- Marilyn Monroe

"I always wanted a happy ending...Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity."
-Gilda Radner

"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world."
Marilyn Monroe

"It's Always Something . . ."
- Gilda Radner

“30 Days of Truths”

Day 05 - Something you hope to do in your life.

Well that’s a loaded question to be answered in 50 words or less. Well I hope to one day be a mom. Not anytime soon but I would love to have a child to dress up & tell stories too & teach them things & tuck them into bed & help them with their homework & have a few moments a day where I’m happy to be a mom. I want to get married to a man who loves me utterly & truly. I hope to go to Paris one day & Italy, & Russia. I hope to finally finish the “Moonlight Sonata” with my grandmother on the piano before I forget it all. I hope to own a pair of Louboutins one day. I hope to be happy in my decisions. I hope…that all these dreams make it into reality. =)

That’s my goal for the weekend. To make at least one of my dreams a reality. CJ & I have his house all to ourselves so we won’t be running around to his & who’s houses. Yeah! Too much of a good thing sometimes. My mom is going to make empanadas for me to bring over too. Yum! I’m going to go to the local Ikea too to start scoping out some finds for my condo. I don’t know any new information but it will be soon. I hope everyone has a great weekend! *Mwah* =)

"If you knew my story word for word had all of my history would you go along with someone like me…"

What a successful start to the week!!! I’m on a roll. I went to the gym, saved some money by doing my own manicure, & talked CJ about just chilling out. I love the days where we just snuggle on the couch & watch our TV shows. It doesn’t always have to be a big production. Anywho there is a roaring storm outside now in skies of NY so I’m going to brief today with my 30 days of awesomness. Rolling…

Day #4: Your Favorite Book

1.       The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
When the movie came out I fell in love with this story & had to have to more. At the time I was in love with a man obsessed with time travel sort of speak. He loved a certain movie called Back to the Future. In this heart-wrenching story this woman named Clare was picked by an accidental time travel of a man into a meadow when she was a lil girl. The movie btw is the G-rated version of the story. The book broke my heart, rebuild it, sliced through it, but then I came out realizing stuff about my future with that idiot I thought I loved. I’d be waiting forever for another chance to have a moment with him never knowing when it would happen. I wanted to be someone’s big event & be able to cherish it whenever I wanted. That life lesson I really needed.

2.       Dracula by Bram Stoker
You would think most of the story would be told by Jonathan Harker & Mina Harker or even Reinfield. Nope. The story is actually mostly written as diary entries about Dracula by the drug addict Dr. Seward. Name doesn’t ring a bell huh? That’s what I thought. He is in the movie version as a man going after Mina’s friend Lucy, but he’s such a big part of the book. The book is ghoulish & dark but it grabs a hold of you & doesn’t let go til the last few words. Very good. I recommend it for a Halloween reading treat! =)

Yeah I know that was two but I also love the books, “Portrait of Jennie” written by Robert Nathan & the “The Poisonwood Bible” by Barbara Kingsolver.

“30 Days of Truths”
Day 04 - Something you have to forgive someone for.

I have 3 friends who in the past year have done some real childlish things. One won’t stop to see me when she passes where I live right by, one will blurt out anything even if its your personal business to an open room of people, & one is always late & won’t let you know what’s really going on with her. I’m not completely grown up myself so I have to forgive this caddy childishness. I’m trying to forgive my ex for being a child too. People think when you turn 18 you’re an adult. Sometimes that’s not the case. I’m not saying that you can’t still go play lazer tag at 25 years old but people need to grow up but it happens to everyone differently. I hope they grow up more in the future.

Alrighty before this storm knocks out my power, goodnight everyone! =)

In Every Generation There is Born a Slayer...

Did everyone enjoy my Cake Decorating Class Post? In case you missed it here’s the link: Cupcakes Galore! Cake Decorating!. It was such a fun post to write! I can’t wait until next week’s class.  I just got back from seeing the movie You Again! I LOVED IT! Total chick flick but seeing the lead woman of Alien fight the lead woman of the original Halloween movies was Cinema Priceless!  I recommend a matinee of it!

Tonight I’m going to continue my 30 Days of Awesomeness!! =)  I’m liking doing this because I feel everyone is getting to learn more about me personally. I write about my randomness & the drama I tackle but it doesn’t show who I am as a person as much as I’d like. This way you know a lot more about me. =) Enjoy!

Day #3: Your Favorite TV Show!

Definitely Buffy the Vampire Slayer. From 6th grade to my first year in college this show ruled one night a week for me. Angel (David Boreanaz) was my teenage crush, I was shocked when Dawn showed up, laughed at the singing episode, was SHOCKED when Faith & Kendra the other slayers showed up, cried when Bufy died & then was like wtf when she came back, loved Spike & Druscilla, followed Willow through the witchcraft, had a secret crush on OZ & Xander, & then HAD to buy all the seasons on DVD. =) I loved this show. I even have the Evil Willow doll & a stake like Buffy. I know I’m a total fan girl, but I love it!

 “30 Days of Truth”

Day #3: Something you have to forgive yourself for.

Falling for the lies of my ex, the Mess. I was so devoted & thought that if I was just there one more time if I did one more thing with him maybe he would turn around and love me & ask me to be with him. Even if he cheated on his girlfriend I was stupid & didn't care. I realized now I was a fool but one of the steps I need to do is forgive him for being an asshole & be thankful I’m not the idiot that’s on his arm now. Yeah I’m bitter & angry but I have to forgive myself because I know better now. I'm grown up on the matters of this ridiculous friendship/relationship I had with that guy. I saw the sign basically & my eyes are wide open. Forgiveness is the path to moving on. I have a new boyfriend who means the world to me & I can't be more grateful.

I also felt bad also for letting a certain friend get out of my life around this time last year because I couldn’t forgive her for belitting a serious situation & not driving me home in a time I felt like I was in danger. I thought I blew it out of proportion but you know what I didn’t. If a friend ever doesn’t listen to you about taking you home when you feel sick or in harms way…you take them home & make sure they are safe. You don’t laugh it off & pick the boyfriend  side whom his friend almost harmed your friend. I have to forgive myself for letting her go & keeping it that way.

Okay! YEAH It’s pretty much Friday! One day of work left! Whew! =) Til tomorrow….

“She puts her make-up on like graffiti on the walls of the heartland…”

In my process of getting to the bottom of things with the condo has left me speechless & a lil all over the place so I’m going to be doing the 30 Day Journal & Truths. I will be still regularly posting as well off & on.

I’ve always loved watching the HGTV shows like House Hunters, My First Place, Property Virgins & usually in the episodes it’s clear cut & to the point. Show the people 3 houses or condos…they pick one. BUT sometimes on My First Place there is some form of drama that is resolved in a commercial break. Your heart will skip a mini beat tho. In reality it’s not as easy as it seems on TV. Soon I will be enjoying the comforts of owning my own home & entertaining & decorating, but alas not yet. I apologize that I’m starting to sound like a broken record with this but you can’t build the world in a day.

I think I need to go back to that wishing tree & make another wish! Tonight I will be posting about my Cake Decorating Class so be sure to stop in later. =) Now for the goodies:

“30 Days of Truths”

Day #2: Something you love about yourself.

Source
I love that I like so many random things. I realized that I like a lil bit of everything but not solely devoted to one thing. I love movies, traveling, crafts, drawing, football, music, collecting antiques, dreaming, writing (Yes, I’m still writing my novel), painting, putting together furniture, my love for garter belts, geocaching, taking pictures, playing video games, reading &… yeah. One of the things that CJ tells me drew him towards me even more was that our conversations seem endless. There is never a dull moment. He’s like me, a man of all trades so we always can find something we can do or talk about.

I love I can still dream. Sometimes I’m too planted in reality. I see things too literally, but I can still see that fluffy elephant in the clouds & make beautiful cupcakes with different colors & imagine myself somewhere else.

Come back later for some cake decorating Fun! =)

Let’s try this again…This time happier…30 Days of Awesomeness!

Well my latest post wasn’t too happy but like I always said there are ups & downs to life. While I get all of this straightened out today & in the upcoming weeks I’m going to be doing the “30 Day Blog Journal” I took from Amy @ Ha Ha. Wait. What? & I will be doing the “30 Days of Truth” I’m going to take from Bathwater @ Memento Mori. Thanks guys! I will still be doing my regular posts at night like I usually do but this will give me something to keep my sanity in check in case I don’t have a moment late at night. Okay here me go! =)
“30 Day Blog Journal”:

Day #1: Your Favorite Song

This is probably the hardest question you can ask me. I have so many!!!! I have to do at least 2 here.

Most Recent Song: Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga

This song is so awesome & the music video sold it to me. I love her outfits & her style & this song was everything I wanted to say a while back. So cool!

Have to Mention: “Say You’ll be there” by Spice Girls

I know, but The Spice Girls ruled the air waves when I was a teenager so I HAVE to mention them!

“30 Days of Truths”

Day 1: Something you hate about yourself.

Well my taste for all things glamorous & beautiful & VERY EXPENSIVE!!! Seriously I hate it when I see something I’d like in the store & without fail there are 3 zeros next the price tag or it’s just a lil too much of my pocket change. Window shopping is the devil to me sometimes. One day… But for right now I will have to admire from afar.

The two things I can’t get my mind off of are:

1. Victoria Secret’s New Perfume “Bombshell”. It smells so beautiful that if I didn’t have a boyfriend I swear I’d date myself. It’s my new favorite perfume. I’m definitely putting this on my Christmas list!

2. A pair of Red Soled Christian Louboutin’s. I will own a pair of these…in a magical world without price tags.
Okay, I’m at work trying to calm down from the condo situation. I’m calmer. I just have to wait some more. Some point in the next 3 months I’ll get a closing date. I hope sooner other than later. Til later…
