I met you before the Fall of Rome…It’s all been done before…

I can’t thank everybody enough for the comments on my last post!! I needed some reassurance that it was normal. When you’re out of your comfort zone sometimes your first reaction is panic. You need to take a moment & just breathe. CJ & I spent tonight together watching a movie & we joked & played & talked & everything was okay. *Whew*. The storm is calmed. My Romeo found me again on that balcony.

We actually watched a really cool movie called, “Taking Woodstock”. Anyone ever see it? I thought it was done very well.  It’s about the people’s back story who brought that legendary concert to Woodstock, NY. Pandemonium is the only word I can find to describe those 3 days & the days that lead up to it. Peace & love too & mud…lots of mud. It got the two of us talking. If I were alive in 1969 I would have given anything to go to that concert!!

Who would have thought it would be talked about 41 years later? I read that some famous bands were offered a chance to take part but they didn’t think it would be a big deal. What a missed opportunity. I asked my parents if they went to Woodstock but alas they didn’t.  Hearing about kickass events & things before I was born always makes me wish for a brief moment that I was immortal or had a hot tub time machine or a delorean with a working flux capacitor. Hehe. But really Omg the stuff  I could see…

The Fall of Rome, Cleopatra’s entrance to Rome, The  real Renaissance, Woodstock of course, the first man walking on the moon, watching Elvis sing live on the Ed Sullivan show “Jail House Rock”, watch Marilyn Monroe sing Happy Birthday to JFK,  hear the first radio broadcast, see the Eiffel Tower being built, the craziness of Prohibition, or anything…who knows what else? You can watch it in a movie but wow to see it in real life must have been amazing.

If you could go back in time…What’s something you’d want to see?

Would you go to Woodstock if you had the chance? =)

I feel so much better that I saw Cj & it was a good night. Tomorrow is my Cake-Decorating class. Can’t wait. We are making a Pumpkin cake out of two bunt cakes. Yes, a pumpkin. Stay tuned.

I would definitely not pass up an opportunity to experience woodstock if I could.

I've always wanted to take a cake decorating course. Hope you can take a picture of your creation!

I loved that movie too, but then again I always thought I should have been born in the 60's. It would have been amazing! I watched the Hendrix's full performance there - mindblowing.

If I could go back in time, I think it would be fun to see my parents when they were teenagers. I'm pretty sure my jaw would drop. Hahahahahaha.

Glad things are back to being AOK. :)

Okay, reading the last post and now I'm caught up. Whew! That's such a common problem in a relationship. And seriously, I cannot not talk for that long. Luckily, neither can the hubs so somehow we just always miss stuff and either get annoyed with each other or don't care.

I just read your post from yesterday...totally normal. It could just be a bad day...I've done that to my family for TV shows, football games, etc. Sometime you just want to watch tv and not talk. But then other times I am talking away during my favorite show and don't care.

I think its just mood based.

Yes! Woodstock is exactly where I would go! In fact, a few months back I did a post about time travel and said that Woodstock is the thing I would most love to see!! :)

sorry I've missed your previous posts. I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend and I'm sorry you and CJ fought, but I think it's normal for little tiffs to happen. Glad it's alright now!

My 2 uncles went to woodstock haha, crazy times. I would love to go to a 1920s speakeasy in fab flapper dress!

If only we could go back in time! I would love to have been around for ancient Rome. We just went there and all the history was really overwhelming! To have been around in all different decades but only in the best of times would have been fun. Every decade has its flaws but they all have their pros! I don't know how you would choose :)

I think that would be one amazing experience. I think I'd keep my clothes on though. HA!

If I could go back in time, I would go see the Goo Goo Dolls live in concert instead of going to my prom. I don't even speak to anyone from my highschool anymore, but I'm still in love with The Goo Goo Dolls after all these years! ha!

Going to Woodstock would have been SO freaking awesome. I agree with you, witnessing some of the coolest historical events would have been pretty sweet, such as seeing Elvis (or the Beatles) on tv for the first time and being a fan of Marilyn Monroe while she was alive.

Then again, we could be going through historical events that our grandkids will wish they could have experienced...such as being the first ones to use Facebook (hahaha) and watching the tv in complete AWE as the first black president is elected in the US, or attending a Lady Gaga concert. Who knows. LOL! :P

Glad you're feeling better. Fighting is totally normal. Totally. Just be sure that whatever fight/disagreement you're having is constructive and (semi?)respectful not merely hurtful.

Ha my aunt hitchhiked from AZ to Woodstock. She said "free love for a free ride"...I seriously hope she was kidding!

Going back in time would be so much fun! There would be so many exciting things to see. But I'm sure Woodstock would have been a blast to be at!

I'm glad you're feeling better about things.

If I could go back in time, I'd want to go to the Thirties and party like those Pretty Young Things!
I'd also want to go and meet Shakespeare and a few other notable writers. Or something like that. xx
