What a Pleasant Surprise!

I knew it was coming soon but how awesome that it was today! One of my best friends just got engaged! I'm so happy for her I can't begin to tell you. They are in a horse-drawn carriage in Central Park and her bf popped the question. He even before asked her Mom for Erin's hand in marriage. I think this is so romantic and I can't wait to see the ring! Congrats Erin if your reading! =)

Now I have two weddings to go to sooner than later. I'm curious to find out who will be next...My cousin got engaged a few weeks ago and now my best friend. Maybe I'll catch the bouquet in one of the weddings ;). hehe.

That's actually how my parents met btw. My Mom caught the bouquet at her college roomate's wedding and low and behold that was my father's cousin so he got lucky enough to catch the garter. My Mom has told me that my father gave her a kiss after putting the garter on her that went right to her toes. I've always loved their story. Their first date was to see Star Wars...too cute.

What a great way to kickoff the weekend! All my plans are up in the air so who knows what the next few days will hold. I'm going to throw on the wall and see what sticks! Do you all have any cool plans?

I gotta get finished to go meet up with Cj...catch you all soon! =)

My Heart’s a stereo, It Beats for You, So Listen Close…

Out with the bad, in with the good. This morning my mom called me to tell me that people with the condition Vertigo are claiming that they have felt “off” for the past 2 days. I have slight vertigo depending on where I am. Now that the earthquakes in Virginia and Canada have happened, things seem to be returning to normal and so am I. The odd sinking feeling in my stomach has subsided, my head feels clear, and I’m ready to take on the day.

It does help that I woke up this morning in CJ’s arms and his cat Angel nuzzling my hand to be pet. His friend Adrian was visiting for the weekend so I haven’t had the luxury of sleeping next to CJ in a while. The world works in funny ways. My boyfriend, who has the same name as my ex, has a best friend with a name of the previous ex before the Mess. I give up. Lol. What’s in a name but seriously come on…switch it up a bit to give my subconscious mind a lil break! I usually give nicknames to protect the innocent but the ex Adrian is guilty as charged. My ex Adrian was the Spanish boy with the grey eyes I’ve mentioned once or twice as a liar and an idiot who called me the wrong name at a VERY bad time. *WINK WINK*. It’s like my past is sorta haunting me…Oh well that's why there's wine!

From Left to Right: CJ's cousins friend, Adrian, CJ, CJ's cousin in the middle, me, and Hannah from Germany!

Anywho meeting CJ’s Adrian was interesting. They’ve been friends for years so it was cool hearing stories from their high school days. That picture is the group of us from the bar last weekend. I’m shocked the photo came out so good because we were all drunk and tired at like 2am but it was definitely a sweet stolen Kodak moment. I’m going to print a hard copy of it too. =)

Today was a sneaker day so I ran around at work like a crazy woman trying to learn all that I can before my predecessor leaves. There is a disappearance of high heel days & even sandal days lately. Too busy and the sneakers help out a lot. Thankfully when I came home there was a Bravo marathon of "Just Desserts" to unwind...Perhaps it'll give me ideas for my cupcake class I'm teaching this fall. I can't wait to see my name as the instructor. It's going to be so cool!

2 more days left of week before the hurricane...5 more days before I'm on my own at work...

Ladies' Night at "The Melting Pot"...

Once in a while...you need a lil treat for good behavior. The treat of the month was a mini trip to  The Melting Pot Fondue restaurant. It is one word: DELICIOUS!!! I know there are a few them all over the U.S. but if you don't know what "The Melting Pot" is it's a fondue restaurant where you can get different cheeses, chocolate concoctions, delectable entrees, and even good salads. The coolest part about the place is that there is a "Ladies' Night" option on Mondays. Throw in a $6 decadent martini...I'm sold!

For $29.99 a person you get a cheese fondue, a salad, a martini, AND a chocolate. Each comes with dipping pieces of all varieties. The only bad thing was that we thought that it was you get a cheese, chocolate etc per person...No. You get one set of food and two ladies share. It was very misleading to be honest and we were a party of 3 and they could have told me that when I made the reservation. I would have brought someone else so we'd be a foursome and it would have been more variety.  However the other two girls and I easily agreed on a cheese and chocolate to share!

It was just what I needed. Girl Talk, Chocolate, & Cheese. Yum! It was really nice to just chill out and not be pestered constantly by the restaurant to leave. They just leave you be with your cheese. hehe. Here are the pics of our awesome night!

Too Many Yummy Choices!!
I thought the Bathroom Sign was Cool!

We got the Traditional Swiss Cheese Fondue...
Best Martini EVER! The "Love" Martini"
The Delicious Chocolate dippers!

Me, Candace, & Kate - Fondue Conquerers!
Have you ever been to "The Melting Pot"? I recommend it!

Be back tomorrow!!

First Day Jitters turned to First Day Cheers!! =)

You read that title correctly!! I had the BEST FIRST DAY EVER!!! I was a bundle of nerves, and that's an understatement. I was so nervous I woke up at 6am for an 8:30 job. lol. I dropped every compact of make-up I owned because my fingers just were giving out on me. I straightened my hair, put on my business pants, and tried to take that sigh of relief that Monday was here at last & feel the relief that I had a job to go to this morning. BUT did you guys know that the sun isn't even up at 6am?? It made me feel all over the place & I think I had too much coffee because I was like the Looney Tunes roadrunner to finish getting ready. Eventually I pulled myself together.

Now I had no idea what the traffic would be like on the Garden State Pkwy at 8 in the morning so I left at 7:30am from my place. I got to the job in less than 30 minutes...I'm happy I brought a book. Reading a book and listening to my ipod finally made me chill out a bit thankfully. The rest of the day...was out of a dream.

I got shown my cubicle and they started me off right away. It's different to be working with women. Men are from Mars and oh boy Women are from Venus. But they took me under the wing, sat me down with the lady that will be training me and started spurting off information. I tried to be a sponge. I was asking questions, writing down notes, meeting my new co-workers and was grinning like a schoolgirl. This is what I wanted. What I needed.

Just Breathe... The possibilities at this new place is making me drunk with dreams. I am the new marketing analyst checking out data for newspaper alliances and half through the day they switch their words to "You will be doing this" instead of the "This is what we do". It was music to my ears. Sweet music.

From getting up tho at 6am and coming down from this happiness high I need to go to bed. Forgive me if I'm a lil delayed in visiting your precious blogs...I will be back to my norm when I get used to juggling everything!! =) I hope tomorrow will be just as good as today!! =)

Birthdays...Elephants..Quiches...& Ninjas! What a Weekend this Shall Be!

Today was my Free Day & I really took it by storm. New York didn't get the dreaded snow of course. They really need to update something in that weather station. These false alarms are driving me a lil cuckoo. hehe. Anywho...I finished getting some last few things for my new job wardrobe today. Kohl's, Target, & Kmart are my life saviors. =) Trying on each piece made me even more excited than ever!

This weekend I have a Booked Planner. So much is going on...including finishing up the book "Water for Elephants." That photo up there is just so cute!! I love baby elephants. They are adorable in their awkwardness. =) Tonight tho I'm going to the Classic Quiche Restaurant in Teaneck, NJ. I don't think I've ever had a quiche. They specialize in it so it should be a real treat! =)

But Tomorrow is going to be pretty cool I hope! My best friend Danielle is coming from Albany and we are all going to the Ninja Restaurant in Manhatten for her birthday! It looks so cool! The waiters are all dressed like ninjas and there are magicians and it's all Japanese food. I hope they have something besides sushi. I just don't like sushi, so I'm hoping they have a simple chicken teriyaki dish or I don't know. I get to see people I haven't seen in actually a few years. I hope all drama gets brushed aside too. I hope...

It should be a whirlwind. I hope you all have a great weekend too! =)

Stolen Moments Have Taken Tuesday Hostage!!

Every week I started doing a Stolen Moments post on Sunday of Weekend Moments I never want to forget. It has taken Tuesday hostage and is not bargaining. Oh well I’ll just have to let it take over…=)

Here were my Weekend Stolen Moments…

~ Girls vs. Boys Bowling Night…CJ and I actually combined the couples we hang out with and it was a SUCCESS!!! Sometimes combining unlike people doesn’t turn out so good. It was a relief that it worked! Also going bowling was pretty awesome when you haven’t done it in a while. ~

~CJ telling me he was so proud of me with trying so hard to get a new job and he was proud to have me as his girlfriend. I’m proud of him too. ~

~I got to see my friend Danielle who I hadn’t seen in OVER A YEAR! She gave me a mug with the best quote ever:

"Good friends are like Stars, you don't always see them, but you know they are always there."
Totally true! It was awesome to catch up and reminiscence about old times! I miss her so much!~

~I saw The Adjustment Bureau with CJ on Sunday afternoon! I liked it!! It wasn’t ground-breaking but you were eager to see each next scene. It’s about fate, choices, and love. If your looking for a light date movie with a lil action/suspense I recommend it! Emily Blunt danced beautifully in it.~

~ I fell in love once again. This time with a machine that makes my coffee in 40 seconds. My Keurig is my new best toy ever!!! =) ~

~ Oh yeah I picked up “Water for Elephants” by Sarah Gruen. It’s very good! I’m about a 100 pages in and enjoying it immensely. I’m just past where all the characters are developed so I’m looking forward to seeing how the story pans out before the movie!! ~

What were your Stolen Moments this Weekend?

There is No Going Back...I've Made the Changes...AND Got Off the Waiting Line...

Hey Everyone! Thank you for all comments the past two days!! CJ loved the strawberries & I'm going to go Ikea over the weekend to work on my bare walls. I appreciated all your ideas & will put them to use! I also think I might have a ghost or a poltergeist or something in the new place but that'll be a future post. This one is about how far I've come and gone when I finally stopped just watching my life pass me by, stuck in that waiting line.

I once had a Wiccan friend named Dawn tell me that I was a "Lady in Waiting" in one of my past lives. At the time when she told me that I couldn't comprehend why she would say that? I was the captain of the cheer leading squad in high school, I was the president of S.A.D.D (Students against destructive decisions), and I was in the top 10% of my class. I didn't have much of a social life but I felt like I was going somewhere. I would never imagine the waiting would soon start.

Waiting for the new guy, the new job, the new apartment, the new...the new life. Well the time has come the walrus said...to live my new life. I have the new guy and he is absolutely wonderful. CJ is all I could have ever wanted & asked for. He bought me a Keurig for Valentine's day & I'm actually at his place right now. He didn't want to me to leave because I was looked tired. He can be insanely considerate & wonderful at times. Through the struggle it was I forged through and actually got my apartment I always wanted. I'm paying less for my mortgage & common charges then if I rented. It's coming along and it's perfect for right now. My health is on a high note & I'm relieved. I'd like no more surgeries please. The job is easier said then done BUT I am putting myself out there on sites & applying to positions. It's a matter of time...and I'm used to waiting. I'm truly blessed right now & I'm so thankful that I got up and did something with my life. Ever so thankful.

I wonder what is going to be next?  The new job? A vacation to a place I've never been? Another opportunity knocking to go see a once in a lifetime performance? Sticking to my diet and having a more tone body? Who knows! I didn't think this year I'd see a Beatles Revival concert or see Green Day live or realize "Hey, I'm exactly where I want to be". That feeling is the best in the world. There is nowhere else that mind is wondering to except to the cute boy playing video games on the couch next to me. I'm happy right now on my journey and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Have You Recently Realized "Hey I'm happy & where I want to be?" Or are you still searching...

I feel like I searched for a million years...

A Valentine's Day Treat!

Finally I this year I have an actual Valentine so I wanted to do something extra special for CJ. He's not really a sweets guy but he loves Chocolate Covered Strawberries and that just happens to be my specialty. =)

Ever since I learned how to melt the chocolate and hold the stem tight and just leave a lil bit of the redness still showing I've loved making chocolate covered strawberries! I have a small family and all of our birthdays tend to be around the same time so it's VERY easy to get sick of birthday cake. Chocolate covered strawberries became one our alternatives. It's so easy & fun to do! When CJ told me he liked them I jumped at the chance to make them. Oh Cj...I love him so much.

Cj & me the day we became Boyfriend & Girlfriend <3

Sometimes your life just hands you a dream you didn't know you were searching for. He makes me feel like I'm the only girl in the world. The lil things he does to make me smile just warm my heart. I've never been more happy in any relationship I've been in. We've been dating almost 9 months and it's been several of the greatest months ever. I'm not sure what we are up to tomorrow but all I know is that the moment I get out of work I want to be in his arms and the next day and the next day after that...

I hope he likes the strawberries! Here are the photos of my Chocolate Covered strawberries for him! =)

A box of treats for my Sweets. =)

I had to try one...Hmmm so good! =)

If I don't get post tomorrow I want to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day! =)

Mustachio Bashio on a Green Day!!

The other day I asked CJ where & what type of birthday party he wanted. To which his response in a mighty voice was,

"I want a Mustachio Bashio! Everyone will wear mustaches as we do a bar crawl through Pearl River."

I replied, "Then a Mustachio Bashio it shall be." I've never gotten funnier looks from a Party City cashier buying 50 mustaches in January. She gave me that look of, "Please for the love of God DON'T tell me why your buying these..." so I kept my mouth shut, paid, and quickly ran through the door. As I looked at these silly mustaches sitting in the car next to me I smiled & laughed. Oh CJ...what am I going to do with you? =P

This week ruled actually, except for the snow. No joke that was the forecast for this week. Luckily I didn't have any full snow days but the height of snow mounds we have all over lower New York is getting ridicolous & a lil dangerous. When your turning onto a street you can't see over it. Hopefully it'll be a lil sunny so it will thaw out.
I also lost a pound this week. I'm really trying to embrace my New Year's resolutions. I'm more organized now & trying to eat healthier. It is starting to pay off. I started the diet Wednesday after a DELICIOUS dinner at the restaurant RUTH CHRIS on Tuesday night. Their fillet mignon butterflied is omg the best steak I've ever eaten. Anyone ever eaten there? Soo good!!

Well this weekend has one more treat in store! On Sunday night I'm going to see "Green Day's American Idiot" on Broadway. I don't know if it's got a story around the music or if it's more like a concert or what? Green Day is probably one of the first modern bands I started to listen to when i was uber little in the early 90's. I used to listen to alot of 50's & 60's songs. I CAN'T WAIT! Oh and Billy Joe is going to be in it!!! I wonder if they sign autographs afterwards?? How awesome would that be to get a signed Playbill???!! Eeek I'm excited!!

This weekend should be amazing. I hope! I'm going to the Green Day thing with CJ so it should definitely be a memory we'll talk about for years. =)

I have to get back to work but I hope everyone has a great weekend snow-free & kisses-full! *knock on wood*

Anyone have any cool plans?
