Some Awards! Another post later too.

Good morning er um Good Afternoon!! Yeah I know I’m late on my posting, but I didn’t get home from my date last night til like 11:30pm. It’s so weird saying “date” to me. I’m really not used to a guy even admitting that the time we spent together was an actual date. This week has been weird tho. From the holiday tho I still feel like it’s Wednesday & have like all the time in the world but alas there is never enough time for everything.

Well I’m going to do a short post now because I received 2 awards from lovely ladies & I have to share!! I'm soo sorry if I've been neglecting the awards that I've recieved. Each one has brought a smile to my face & I'm sorry I missed posting them. I got out of the habit of doing awards, but I’m definitely going to be getting back into the swing of things. Later I’ll do a post about my date & some other new randomness.

1st Award: is from Erica at Tiptoe Butterfly. Thank u!! =)

So I have to name 10 things that make me happy & then pass it out to the 10 other bloggers.

1.)Learning this morning that the lump excised from my breast was in fact just a fibroid. It wasn’t cancer. That just brightened up my whole day.
2.)Playing video games at Dave n Busters. There is a new Terminator Salvation game that kicks ass!!
3.)The days when my bosses say “We’re going to close up at 3pm today but don’t worry put 4:30pm on your time sheet.”
4.)Kisses where the guy is wearing my eye-liner by the end of it. I think it’s funny.
5.)Great hair days. I have frizzy, curly hair…but the days where it actually behaves & stays in the hair style I did in the morning are fantastic!!
6.)French Manicures. Oh I love getting a French manicure. It’s one of my girl luxuries I don’t do often but when I do, it’s glorious. =)
7.)Making cupcakes. Cupcakes + “Girl on Viccodin” don’t mix well because I got the batter all over this weekend but the result was ohhh soo yummy!!
8.)Having a glass a pink wine at the end of a long day to unwind.
9.)Someone liking the same things as me. I love the “Omg Me too! I know that!” moments.
10.)Good night sleep. Really. It’s underrated.

I’m passing this award onto:

Note to Self
Windshield Diaries
Mad Madam Mim’s Mimsy
Cinema Obsessed
Lenorenevermore

Just call me Jo
Hey Lady Grey
A Reflection by Tuesdai
Workingnitinup

Award #2 is from Olivia over at Olivia Writes. I’ve never gotten this award before & I think it’s so cute!! Thank you girl!

Here are the rules:
1. Thank the person that gave this to you :) Go on, give them a virtual hug!

2. Copy the award and put it on your blog.

3. List 3 things you love about yourself ♥

4. Post a picture you love (e.g a person you adore etc.)

5. Tag 5 people you wish to pass this award on to :)

Okay so 3 things:

1.)I like that I try to always be there for my friends. I will ask them a million questions til they tell me what’s really been bugging them. I love that when a friend is sick I know to go get a garbage pail for them or realize oh they are drinking too much I should cut back just in case I need to drive. I’m glad I have the few great ones I have.
2.)My ability to not give up. I say “I give up” a lot but somehow I never do. Even after 4 surgeries, NONE of which were cosmetic, I’m still kicking & screaming my way through. After a debacle of a disaster relationship I picked myself back up. It’s a skill that I cherish in myself.
3.)I like the randomness of my mind. I know that sounds like a cop-out answer but I love that my mind can retain all this useless information. But who knows!! One day I might get into Cash Cab or Jeopardy or find that right guy that knows all the same things! =)

I'm at work so I can't do the picture. Oops, srry.

I'm passing this award to the following peeps:

Pop Champagne
The Dream Machine
Memento Mori
I know, right?
Happy by Choice

Whew. That took me awhile. It’s so hot today in New York that I didn’t even go out to lunch today after my follow-up appointment with the doctor. I gotta get back to work before I get in trouble. hehe. =P

I’ll be back later with my usual post.

OH! Now I know everyone buys some things online these days: from products to make-up to shoes to who knows. If you get a chance take a look at my

Affliate: Omni Supplements.

Just Click the below badge & see what products you can find. Go to Shop brands, pick a letter, & see what there’s! =)

Later everyone!

I can't belive this! Thank you!!

Over the past few days I have been given a few awards & I have to take a minute to thank everyone & do the tags for them. =) I actually took off today from work because I needed a break from all of it. After my boss pranked called my office phone because a fellow employee told him like a jerk, "It would be funny"...I decided I couldn't deal with them one day this week. My boss apologized but I was upset. I will deal with this issue in person on Monday. It's beyond respect now, and things have to change. I can't afford to lose my job right now or my health insurance so I will take a professional action. I never thought I'd say this but, "I wish I had a cubicle". It would give me a lil privacy & a small filter of the stupidity.

Also I'm going to be calling Mr. Platform. I realized he has not rescheduled his party yet. I want to meet him more so in my life than ever. Even if he just becomes just a friend it would still make me happy.

Well on a lighter note the awards have just cheered me up so much. Thank you thank you. Here we go with them.

Happy 100th Post!

It didn't really dawn on me til I looked under my post "New Entry" that today is my 100th post. A 100 days!! I can't remember anything besides school or a relationship that I've done in a 100 days & was devoted to it. My clean room gets messy after a day & a half, my purse doesn't stay clean after I straighten it out, my fights with friends that I thought I would never talk to again lasts about a day or so...the journal I keep has soo many missed entries....but blogging...I'm keeping up with that and I like it very much. I'm even keeping up with the 11:11pm thing. Maybe my wishes will come true.

This is going to be a little short because I did get to go to my work party, go to the dentist, get my car fixed, & somehow my hair is still straight. I didn't get to go to my writer's group but luckily they will be emailing me comments on my story. =) I'm tired. I'm sleep for days tired. Who has a work party on a Thursday???? Ohh right it was Thrusday night Football at a Sports Bar. My head is killing me from the screaming bar...But I have a few delights that I want to share.

I got the pleasure today of receiving some awesome awards from the lovely lady at OceanDreams, Barry @ Life in Quotations, & Connor @ Pizza Box.

First off I recieved the Happy Award from OceanDreams. She is so talented & I want to shop in her designed Juicy store one day!!

Rules for Award:

1. List 10 things that make you happy.
2. Tag 10 bloggers that brighten your day.

10 things:

1.) Coming home after an extremely long day, taking my belt off from my jeans, taking my socks off & taking my hair out of the bun & crawling into bed. Those few initial moments when my head hits the pillow, I crave everday & just letting go. "There's beauty in the breakdown" - Frou Frou

2.)That first kiss of the night. Not the hello kiss or the goodbye kiss, but the first kiss that's just because he's there next to you. It's usually the slow approach, angle your face to his gently, feel his hands smooth your hair down your face, & that moment when your lips finally touch... that makes makes me happy.

3.)Putting money in my bank account because it means I'm one step further to my dream apartment. It doesn't have to be big or glamorous, maybe just a studio apartment/condo for a few years but it'll be mine & I can hang my hat wherever I want.

4.)Curling up with a good book that I just get completely lost in the pages makes me deliriously happy. When I've looked up at the clock & an hour has blinked by or I glance at the book & see that I have made it already half through...Oooo I love it. Knowing that there's a sequel waiting, is the icing on the cupcake.

5.)Quoting movies & having someone tell me, "Omg I know that line! That's an Awesome Reference". I <3 movies, what can I say. It makes smile when I've made someone else smile.

6.)NOT being sick. lol. Had to add this one in because I think I'm getting a cold too from the sudden drastic drop in temperature. Oh great.

7.)People who call me or text me to just check up on me. I like that.

8.)Breaking stereotypes. Love this one. I think I'll do a post one day about it. Hey I used to go to my AP English & Physics & Tech Shop classes in High School in my cheerleading uniform. I loved making my technology teacher squirm watching a cheerleader use the ban saw. =P

9.)My mom telling me that's she's proud of me. I didn't get to the writers' group but they did read a story I submitted & they liked it. My mom was very happy & proud. It made me smile.

10.)Singing those 80's songs in my car @ full blast. <3.

I would like to pass this award on to ALL my followers. If you want to accept it by all means post & do the rules please be my guest. =)

Secondly, I recieved an award from Barry @ Life in Quotations. Go check out his blog, the link is above. He has a way of words & his deep thinking will move you in so many ways. I love this award because it gives me motivation for my zombie novel. Zombie Chickens?? I might put some in there. hehe.

Thirdly is the humane award from the hilarious Connor @ Pizza Box. He is just a delight & is so funny. I'm rooting for him to find a job ASAP. He's cute too.

I would love to assign awards to each & every one of you I'm just a lil tired to do the html coding. I never knew blogging would teach me how to computer program!! I'm a big multi-tasker. Right now I'm multi-tasking blogging & sleeping with my eyes open. I would like nothing other then to stay home tomorrow night & rest & read some more the book "Julie & Julia". I don't want to put it down. I'll rest one day. Good night everyone. Til Tomorrow

Ooooo Oooo I got an Award!! <3

I still consider myself a lil bit of newbie of the blogging world & I gotta say getting awards make me Omg Soo happy. =) I'm a 20-something with every right & wrong direction in front of her so getting an award makes me think, "Woa I think I'm on the right path". I made a few decisions tonight not to go certain places & my mom said to me, "That's very grown up of you". I have to stick to certain things like I've said and I'm trying. Trying to keep my head held high. My doctor today told me get some new hobbies, walk at least 15 minutes a day, go out, enjoy, get your mind off of things & these things gotta sink into your brain so you believe you can. For a doctor who is mostly facts & figures I gotta give him credit for being a human being to me & NOT just prescribing some form of medication. I was hoping for a quick fix answer but let's face it. Nothing is ever easy. But that's okay, really it's okay. I still got a few hugs tonight from my family that made my heart happy.

Now...Award Time.

First one I'd like to thank the very crafty & inspiring lady at Wandering Thougts of a Scientific Housewife for giving me the Sugar Doll award. Her Diy projects are fun, her reviews of Project Runway make me laugh & omg I agree with you on them soo much, & her tag sale adventures are great. *Hugs* Go check her out!!

Okay the rules: 10 random things about me.

1.)I can't to save my life gift wrap presents properly. It just for some reason doesn't come together for me.
2.)When I have children one day I want the baby room to be Classic Winnie the Pooh. I think it works for boys or girls.
3.)I can't do a cart-wheel at all. I can get up on my hands but I get stuck somewhere in the middle. Gravity Works & it's brutal. =P
4.)I hate my feet because I love high-heels I think they are so sexy but because I have high arches my feet hurt too much to wear them.
5.)I'm obsessive over things I don't understand.
6.)I once had to strip from a nurses's uniform to a devil's costume that was underneath in my High School Senior Musical. Yes, I was a stripper in my high school play. ( I think my teacher almost got fired for the play too.)
7.)I fear looking at my facebook because I don't want to know that a certain individual I still know has a new girlfriend.
8.)I once swallowed a moth ball when I was 3. I had to be rushed to the hospital & have my stomach pumped for hours.
9.)I was sick as a dog for my sixteenth birthday, could barely even eat my cake. (Just so you know you can NOT light a candle from an electric stove.)
10.)I was once tickled by the actor who played Leatherface in movie "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" while I was sitting on his lap. (That story will be for another day.)

Now I get to pass this award onto 10 other blogs.

Sugar & Spice
The diary of a self-taught visual designer

2.)My nationality is half Italian, a quarter German, & a quarter Dominican.
3.)I fear that the Mess will one day find this blog & hate me for what I've written about him.

6.)I have a lil bump scar on the left side of my top lip where one of my teeth went through it when I was pushed down a slide when I was about 4 years old.

And then I wrote...

I mentioned in my last post that I joined a Writer's group. Maybe it will be my motivation to get the ball rolling and actually write down some of my ideas. A friend told me one day, "Write everything down even if it's bad or good, just make sure you write it somewhere." I think just maybe I'm going to start listening to that advice.

When I was little I wanted to be a writer. I'm not sure where the idea came from, I can't remember, but I used to write lil stories. Perhaps it sprouted from my addiction to reading when I was little, ya know the "Goosebumps" series, The "R.L. Stine" stories, and the "Sweet Valley High series. I once wrote a story about a "Homework Man" who would get you if you didn't finish your homework. It was cheesy but I still have it somewhere in my clutter. Writing in this blog has made me remember how much fun it is to write; To build a story, fill in the characters & plot, and enjoy the result. I've never had a writing deadline, but I can imagine it would drain out a bit of the fun & creativity because your no longer writing for yourself & future fans, but your writing for your editor and that must suck. For now, it'll just be for me & whoever would want to read it.

Here are some ideas I've been batting around:

I have written one short story about a girl who finds herself mesmerized with a man she sees in an elevator one New Year's night, and had no idea who this stranger was & how much he was to affect her life. All she knew was she had to deliver the box to a man named James...and she did deliver that box and he changed her life forever. I think I might post it here at a later time.

My big project that has been slowly unraveling in my head is actually a zombie novel. It's more of a Post-zombie war book, through the eyes of girl who is the head of the "Reconstruction Committee" at the first day back of a real job. In almost every zombie movie & book there is absolute chaos, but statistics show that at least 1% of the human population will be unaffected by natural disaster so there will be hope and someone has to clean up this mess. Of course nothing is that simple. It will have some crazy lil quirks like if you find a zombie and turn it into the government you will receive a tax refund because the government isn't allowed more than a certain number of zombies to study per given month. It is a work in progress...and I'm hoping the writers group will push me to get it on paper.

In this spare time of mine before I go back to work on Monday I'm going to try and write some stuff down. My cherry lil notebook I write in for my Williams Somona demos, that I look forward to starting up again, is going to be my new best friend.

I told people this blog is random. =) I have alot of different things up my sleeves and like a magician I can't wait to pull another rabbit out of my hat.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wanted to take another minute of your time and thank Jennifer over at I know, right? for giving me my second award!!

Your such a doll!! I love it. It's actually motivated me to write more too!! Now I have to pass it on to 5 other bloggers. I'm not sure has been given this award in the past but I hope you don't mind getting it again.

Please Pack Your Knives & Go.

Today the Cocoa Cola Girl went to her lil free demo class at Williams Sonoma. I wonder if they are going to do these during the holiday season?? Today's demo was on knives. I'm a lil skittish around knives. Always have been. When your little you learn three cardinal rules, 1.) Don't play with the stove, 2.)Don't play with matches, and 3.) Don't play with knives. Well I think I forgot to upgrade the third one. lol.

I learned a few interesting facts that I would love to share with you. I've always heard on the TV shows, "Top Chef" & "Iron Chef" that the knives make the chefs. That's totally true. You can't just go in a store & buy a knife set. There are different types for different purposes. There are Serrated Knives, Pairing Knives, Santoku knives, Japense knives and of course many more. And when it says, "Medium Dice" they actually mean dice it to a medium size. When following a recipe you actually have to follow the sizes of dices. A dice is the lil cubes of garlic, or potato or any yummy ingredient. You need the right size because it depends on cooking time. If you need a large dice in a stew and you cut small dices, your potato will be soggy in the stew because it cooked too fast. Did not know that!!

There wasn't much to the demo. This is was the first one that was more of a, "Buy this product." My eyes are still watering from when the lady cut the onions. Her main advice to people buying knives was buy at least a Chef's Knife & a Pairing Knife. A Chef's knife is a knife you cut a turkey with & a Pairing Knife is small which is used for cutting tomatoes, onions, radishes, etc.

Also ALWAYS SHARPEN YOUR KNIFE!! The odds are actually greater of getting cut from a dull knife, then a sharp knife. Also when you are slicing & dicing make sure you're cutting on a level surface. Even cut your potato or tomato perhaps into a square shape so you don't have to work with a wobbly opponent. And curl your non cutting hand so you don't have your hand flat where it can be easily cut. I was hoping to learn how to like make a rose out of a radish but I think I have to take a real class for that.

Well for heavy duty Knife skills maybe I'll just watch "Kill Bill Vol.1" for some inspiration. I'm sure a Hattorio Honzo sword will do the trick. =P.

This is going to be a hard week for me. I have a lot to do & none of it is easy. Rose-colored glasses off, and Grown-Up Face on. I spoke of change and nothing is going to change unless I do something. I think I'm ready. Well, I have to be ready. I'll explain more tomorrow...

I'd like to take a minute to thank the lovely lady over at Dustjacket Attic for giving me my first award, the Kreativ Blogger Award. This made me soo happy!!! I'm going to follow the rules now. I have to tell you 7 things you didn't know about me & pass it to 7 people!

7 things you didn't know about me:

1.) I went to Catholic school til 6th grade.

2.) I actually was the Captain of my high school Cheerleading Squad. And was the most unpopular cheerleader ever. Yeah, Taylor Swift hunny, sometimes the "Cheer Captain" doesn't get the guy either.

3.) I'm terrified of the E.T. Ya know the alien movie with the plant, Drew Barrymore, the E.T. Phone home? I'm petrified of that movie. I actually will run out of a room and scream if it's on the TV.

4.) I love train rides. I always feel like I'm going to some other world and it's just so relaxing.

5.) I believe in Past Lives. I've met too many people & on that first meeting I've felt like I've known them forever or some time before. And there are definitely things you just can't explain.

6.) I can play the piano, but I can't read sheet music. Maybe I'm dyslexic or something because the notes on the pages just get all scrambled to me, but my grandmothers both taught me how to play by ear.

7.) When I was 8, I accidentally bumped the actress Brooke Shields with the door at Planet Hollywood in Atlantic City. She had walked in before me, and I pushed the door into her back. SORRY BROOKE!! I had no idea who she was at the time.

I'd like to pass on this award to 7 people:

Carpe Diem
Modern Dreamer
Simply Colette
The GREEN in me
Wandering Thoughts of a Scientific Housewife
I know, right?
Life in Quotations

Thanks again!!!
