Can't Give Up Just Yet....

Every time I think of ending my blog I look around all the beautiful and unique blogs I have found and I fall in love with the process all over again. It pulls me back like a dollop of fresh butter cream vanilla icing just begging to be licked off a spoon. The last week and a half has been arduous. Hard isn’t a good enough word. The definition of Arduous is “Involving or requiring strenuous effort; difficult and tiring”. Yup that hits the mark. I kept spinning, spending, swirling, sacrificing, and swallowing the effects of being a 25 year old with the world knocking on my door. Now I’m back to tell the tale…

I think tiredness is my biggest problem with blogging. I have all these wonderful ideas hammering quick emails in my head all day long in hope that they will be written, but then by nightfall I’m exhausted and not lifting up my computer screen. However once you’ve slammed into a wall, the only thing left to do is pull yourself back up. I have to make sure my invisible marionette strings are intact and ready to let me dance here again. There is ALWAYS the next day to start again…changing and molding it into a new promising day. Even if my posts are a lil less in length, I want to at least write and post. Yeah, I like the sound of that.

What doesn’t help matters is that I’ve been sick too with a ridiculous skin rash from head to foot. It’s embarrassing to admit that I’ve been feeling like I’m transforming into an itchy X-men all week but it’s the truth. $150 in medical bills later due to my lack of health insurance for the time being and I find out that I’m allergic to an “unknown variable” in my life. It sounds like the back-cover of a cheap sci-fi novel, doesn’t it? It wasn’t serious enough to be shingles or poison ivy or eczema but it was still a pain in the ass. Anywho I’ve been on tons of antibiotics, lathered myself with so many creams I can’t keep track, and it’s finally going away. I didn’t change soaps, didn’t eat any weird fruit, or didn’t use any new laundry detergents. Who knows? It will be a mystery.

This blog is a little bit of everything from daily life and it will continue on as follows. My tales from my relationship with CJ, owning my first new place, losing and getting a new job, finding my lil niche in life, family and friends, questions & crossroads, and of course cupcakes too. Above all else there will be a twist of randomness. Stay tuned for more…

Im glad you keep blogging. I know I had a couple of months out and it was just what I needed to get my head around it. Now I just post whenever I have the ideas, I had to step back to make myself see that blogging shouldn't be full of pressure. hope you feel better soon and your rash settles x

Hi!

The rash sounds like what I went through in Europe. Took 2 weeks to finally go away, and was so itchy. I feel the same about blogging. Finally able to read some of my faves this weekend, after I'd tired of my own, and now feel inspired again. Take care,

You know what? I've known your blog for a pretty long time now. While some people move to new blog (like me), you stay stronger than others!

I love your blog. The way you write inspires me throughout my whole life. I read it and I go away with something you said stuck in my head all day.
Even the stolen moments, I always think about mine and try to view life as a series of stolen moments.
So keep writing darling.

I often think about ending my blog as well - because it's so time consuming - but I never do, because I truly love blogging.... sometimes I just need to step back from it for a few days though and that usually helps.

I'm glad you're sticking around!

Well, Mel, I am glad to hear you are okay, albeit incredibly busy.

I'm very sorry to hear about your rash. Do you think it could be stress? I know firsthand that stress does absolutely AMAZING things to a person's health. Four years ago, when I was doing six different people's jobs and constantly fighting with my parents, I started getting 102 degree fevers (with vomiting every other hour) every single month for a year straight. I went to a neurologist, cardiologist, etc. I spent thousands of dollars getting tests and work done. Every single doctor was stumped. Finally, one doctor laid it out for me: my sickness was caused from STRESS. I moved out of my parents' house and stopped working overtime and guess what? I have not been sick SINCE! I just wanted to tell you my story in case this may be the case for you. Stress causes anything.

I really hope you don't stop your blog. I look forward to all your posts and I know your other readers do too. We would miss you too much. But I understand that it's not really possible to blog frequently with a demanding job. Just post whenever you get the chance and I promise we'll be here for each one! We love you! :)

Don't leave us now...Though I don't always comment, I care. And I hope you care that I care. I got a rash one spring. I think it was Fabreze (sp??) or something. I never figured it out. It just went away after a month or two. Scratch on...

I love that you blog Mel, love knowing that you're "out there" in the blogosphere. We'll probably never meet but you were one of the first bloggers I felt a connection to and you're still one of my favourite people.

There's a lot of honesty on your blog, no bullshit just the story of a girl living her life. I keep coming back because, simply put, you're a whole lot of wonderful.

Awww, Melanie, it's regrettably been such a long time since I've visited your blog, but I just started blogging again and today I've been looking at all the past blogs I used to follow and checking how it's all been. I'm so happy to see you're still blogging-- you were one of my favorites, you were one of the few who actually put thought into the things she said and had properly-worded, smart opinions and such a happy spirit, I was so jealous.

I am so excited to start reading your blog again (and srsly, just plainly returning to the blogosphere-- I definitely missed it) and staying tuned. Have a beautiful rest of the week, and continue being as awesome as you've always been.

Don't give up! I love your blog. :] My fiance gets rashes during spring and summer due to outdoor allergens (like pollen) it's insane. He has to use steroid creams, and take pills for it.. hope it goes away soon. I know all too well about how annoying it is to deal with allergies.
