"Your Home now, Peggy Sue."

Hey Everyone! Everytime I come home from something major, whether it be surgery, a long trip, or a hard day my dad says to me, "Your home now, Peggy Sue" like from that movie, Peggy Sue Got Married. I'm not sure where he got into the habit of doing it but yesterday he said it once more to me.

I'm okay & I'm home. It honestly seems like a blur 24 hours later. I have a hard time waking up from anesthesia & as the day went on I could barely remember the recovery room. The doctor came to see me before, initialed my breast (which I think is hilarious), & proceeded. He said the fibroid came right out without having to remove any breast tissue. Thank God. The nurses were so nice to me & I tried so hard to remain calm because in situations like this it really is the best way to do it. The anesthesiologist was a very nice man & I barely have any bruising from where he did the IV. When I told him I had 2 other surgeries he said to me,"Sorry we don't give frequent flyer miles here". It was cute. I'm not in that much pain which is good but my arm hurts for some odd reason. I dunno I'll ask him on Thursday when I go get the bandages removed.

I just want to thank everyone so much for lending your support to me through all of this. It's hard to pull yourself together in moments of adversity but with kind words it does help. Thank you all!! *hugs*

This surgery does mean alot of changes that I will be putting into effect. For example, I'm nixing caffeine from my diet. I think the head-ache I have right now is caffeine withdrawal but who knows. I want to try to prevent having a 3rd case of fibroids. Little steps but it will make a difference.

OH! And I got a wonderful suprise from CJ on Friday. He sent me roses. Beautiful roses. I couldn't believe it. I never get flowers. Regardless of what happens between him & I, the kind gestures were just something I needed. It's true when they say you can slowly rebuild yourself & your self-esteem with someone new. =)

I'm going to try to get some more sleep. The doctor didn't give me any pain medication so Ive been taking advil & it's been knocking me out. I'll be returning the lovely comments & catching up on everyone's blogs too. Goodnight everyone, and thank you!! =)

1. So glad you're home from surgery and that it went well!
2. Is CJ the guy you had a date with last Wednesday? If so, it is SO SWEET that he sent you roses! Amazing! To be honest, I'm pretty sure no guy has sent me flowers since my high school boyfriend. (Clearly I'm dating the wrong people . . . ).
3. Oh man, you're a brave girl for giving up caffeine! I totally understand it, and would probably do the same thing in your situation, but man oh man life without coffee . . .

Hope everything returns to normal ASAP!

I'm so glad you're done with the surgery and hope recuperating. I knew everything would be fine and it's great he didn't have to take any breast tissue.
Good luck with giving up caffeine ... I was having some brutal headaches so I kinda slid back into the coffee habit but today is another day and I'm starting over ... we can withdraw together.
Seriously, I'm so glad you're on the road to recover and what a total sweetie CJ was to send flowers. I hope he continues to do nice things for you.
Sorry I've been absent so much ... life has been crazy. Chat soon.

This is such a kind and thoughtful gesture - to send you flowers - regardless of what happens between you both - sending you flowers is really a generous tjing to do, and I do hope it comes from the heart.
So glad to hear you are feeling better after surgery. Hugs. XX

You also need to change your diet otherwise fibroids will re-appear. Try eating salmon three times weekly, loads of walnuts, pumpkin seeds, ample amounts of water, avoid sugar - sugar makes fibroids grow. Incorporate more fruits into your daily diet. Buy organic whenever possible - eat an apple a day. Get well, my lovely.

it is done! you are ok! you must be so relieved to have this behind you.

and DAMMIT, i thought caffeine contributed to fibroid growth. i should quit too. argh! it isn't easy, but i should.

hang in there, and i hope you are feeling good soon!

Wow, I am so happy to hear that all went well and you are okay. Yay! And your doctor sounds hilarious. :P

And I'm SO HAPPY to see you are finally with a gentleman. Those flowers are beautiful. How sweet of him! See, this is how LADIES are treated! I think a few of your exes (and mine) could learn a thing or two from CJ. Hahaha!

I hope the rest of your week goes by smoothly, Mel. xoxoxo!

Soo glad to hear you got out of hospital and are recovering so well- although if I were you I'd definitely try and get a few more days off work ;) I just finished Dracula and I absolutely loved it, such a good book. And Mario Bros is ace, but you're right it is hard- when I play with my boyfriend I keep getting pissed off as he keeps accidentally killing me! Keep feeling better and hope you enjoy the date! :-) xx
