Finally it’s Friday!! Yeah!! So many good things have happened this week that it just whizzed right by! Thankfully, hehe. Finally too amongst the madness I finished the book, “Eat Pray Love”. I know it was big in the blog-o-sphere months ago but as usual I’m the last one to catch on. With little time to read I’m shocked I finished it at all, but I will say that it was very enjoyable read indeed.
So HOW did this little book become such a World-Wide, “OMG YOU HAVE TO READ IT” book? Here is what I think happened…
What do most people dream about? Traveling. What does the main character get to do? Travel to Italy, India, and Bali. There you go. The mystery is out. She finds love with a very sexy man from Bali with an Australian accent too after she had sort of sworn off men! Bam! Historic book magic. She finds her true self through meditation and beats a depression I think we all have known before…when you have to leave a relationship with someone you love because it just isn’t working out. Also, what’s really nice about the book is her realness. The rose-colored glasses are off and it’s all on the table. It’s refreshing…
You also learn a few cultural facts about Italy, India, and Bali that really can baffle your mind. Did you know the people of Bali are only named 4 names? If you read this book you’ll find out more…
Some people thought the book was selfish but I think she redeems herself within the last pages in Bali. The book is about one person’s changing life so frankly it’s going to be all about her. Others thought she was wrong to leave her husband, but to each is own. I will admit she does get a lil repetitive in her describing why she is so depressed and sometimes you wish you could shake her and say, “SNAP OUT OF IT” but no worries certain key characters slap the reality back into her.
If your looking for a book to escape in for a while definitely cross over into her world. =P “Attraverismo”.
Well “Let’s Cross Over” into your mind for a while…
What have you been dreaming of doing lately?
In my new found path of change I’m curious…

thank you so much, sweet girl! <3 looking forward to being friends! :D
love, polly
i really like eat, pray, love for its honesty about the fact life can be a struggle and there is no shame in taking the time to work out who you are...i really dont think she was being selfish, i think she was being honest and realistic. i admire liz gilbert for her bravery.
recently i have been dreaming of feeling comfortable with myself...but that is a biggie, so for the time being my realistic dream is to not have to wear socks - i want it to get warm!
x.
I seriously need to read this book, I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't!
yaay, Italy! pretty much can't wait to travel there. You should too! :D
i haven't read the book or seen the film, you would recommend?
I absolutely adored the book and it definitely inspired me to do some traveling this past summer to Europe!
It sounds like my kind of book. I'm dreaming of going on a road trip.
I've been dreaming of Scotland lately. I have a friend that lives there and I want to see him. Exploring castles and seeing a good friends sounds like an amazing trip.

i too have not read nor seen the movie!! too busy with school right now, so many movies i'd like to see and that is one of them. i keep ordering books on amazon that i want to read for when i have time to read them. yikes. oh and as for what have i been dreaming about doing lately....taking a plunge and moving. my son heads to college this fall and i may move to boston from the cape to be closer to school and libraries there etc. so for me that would be a big decision and one that scares me a little. but hey, that's the point right? ;) have a great weekend melanie!
Okay, now I think it's time that I Eat, Pray, Love. You have completely intrigued me with this post! :)
I love that book! The movie was just as good, in my opinion.
Ever since I read the book, I have been LONGING to travel all over the world. But as of right now, I have never even been out of the US. Sigh. :(
Thank you ever so much for dropping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment! I appreciate it so very much :)
I've heard such good things about Eat, Pray, Love but haven't had time to watch or read it. Thank you for the brief overview. I definately know I want to check it out!
