And then I wrote...

I mentioned in my last post that I joined a Writer's group. Maybe it will be my motivation to get the ball rolling and actually write down some of my ideas. A friend told me one day, "Write everything down even if it's bad or good, just make sure you write it somewhere." I think just maybe I'm going to start listening to that advice.

When I was little I wanted to be a writer. I'm not sure where the idea came from, I can't remember, but I used to write lil stories. Perhaps it sprouted from my addiction to reading when I was little, ya know the "Goosebumps" series, The "R.L. Stine" stories, and the "Sweet Valley High series. I once wrote a story about a "Homework Man" who would get you if you didn't finish your homework. It was cheesy but I still have it somewhere in my clutter. Writing in this blog has made me remember how much fun it is to write; To build a story, fill in the characters & plot, and enjoy the result. I've never had a writing deadline, but I can imagine it would drain out a bit of the fun & creativity because your no longer writing for yourself & future fans, but your writing for your editor and that must suck. For now, it'll just be for me & whoever would want to read it.

Here are some ideas I've been batting around:

I have written one short story about a girl who finds herself mesmerized with a man she sees in an elevator one New Year's night, and had no idea who this stranger was & how much he was to affect her life. All she knew was she had to deliver the box to a man named James...and she did deliver that box and he changed her life forever. I think I might post it here at a later time.

My big project that has been slowly unraveling in my head is actually a zombie novel. It's more of a Post-zombie war book, through the eyes of girl who is the head of the "Reconstruction Committee" at the first day back of a real job. In almost every zombie movie & book there is absolute chaos, but statistics show that at least 1% of the human population will be unaffected by natural disaster so there will be hope and someone has to clean up this mess. Of course nothing is that simple. It will have some crazy lil quirks like if you find a zombie and turn it into the government you will receive a tax refund because the government isn't allowed more than a certain number of zombies to study per given month. It is a work in progress...and I'm hoping the writers group will push me to get it on paper.

In this spare time of mine before I go back to work on Monday I'm going to try and write some stuff down. My cherry lil notebook I write in for my Williams Somona demos, that I look forward to starting up again, is going to be my new best friend.

I told people this blog is random. =) I have alot of different things up my sleeves and like a magician I can't wait to pull another rabbit out of my hat.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wanted to take another minute of your time and thank Jennifer over at I know, right? for giving me my second award!!

Your such a doll!! I love it. It's actually motivated me to write more too!! Now I have to pass it on to 5 other bloggers. I'm not sure has been given this award in the past but I hope you don't mind getting it again.

Sneaky lil Enemies...

Now one would think that sitting home, doing nothing, and pretty much lying on your back would be fun? Right? Hell no! I'm bored very bored. However, a few sneaky lil enemies have surprisingly snuck up on me that, Omg I had to get out of the house!!!!

Here are my new found enemies:

1.) Fun-Sized Snack treats for future Halloween Trick or Treaters. Um yeah, I might have to go out and get MORE candy because you can't just eat one of those damn lil bagged treats of goodness. I'm addicted to the M&M Peanut ones. Who decided to call them, "Fun Sized" anyway?? It's not fun when I'm going to be on the treadmill when I'm better & spending more money to get more. lol.

2.) Lucky Charms Cereal. I ate a big box in 2 days. I have a bad habit of eating all the marshmallows in these sugary cereals and then kinda leaving the oat cereal behind. It just is too yummy.

3.) T.V. is a new found enemy of mine. I'm used to working from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, so the amount of T.V. I do watch is minimal except for a few favorite shows. Well, to let you guys know I just have basic cable, so there is no HBO & all the millions of channels to chose from, ergo I'm stuck. THERE IS NOTHING ON DAY-TIME TV!!! Thank God for AMC, showing some horror movies or I would have been climbing the walls 4 days ago. I find it funny that talk shows try to be original as well as soap operas but let's face it, it's been done already and yes the guy will wind up being your long lost brother or that girl will have a brain tumor even tho she is having your husband's ex's kid's baby. lol.

4.) The phone. Every time your just about drifting off to sleep, Bam. You get that text or that call from someone trying to sell you a mortgage. I give up.

5.) Last but not least. Me. I've been kinda trapped in my house with my mind. It's basically been a marathon of "Oh I could have done this instead", "Omg I can't believe I've done that", "Woa that mess didn't even ask me if I needed anything?", "What if I tried this, maybe that'll work???" In all truth I've just given myself a big headache with no solutions, except things cannot go on as are & I need to use these last few days home to get my act in gear.

From all the above stuff, my mom thought it best that I joined her Writer's Group. There is a small group of very talented authors who come to a local library to get their work critiqued by a real audience. You can write a story but if you fail to execute it properly to readers and your message doesn't come out right, unfortunately a great story might be lost. We met tonight, and thankfully there was an elevator in the place so I didn't have to make the stairs. The incredibly nice host made me some tea, and it did make me feel better. It was nice to see completely different people in different periods of their lives commenting on each other's work. I can't wait til the next meeting where I'll maybe read something I've written myself.

What's odd about the Writer's Group is that it's in the library I used to go to as a little girl for story-time. Remember those days?? When the lady read the book to a group of kids and then showed us the picture before she turned the page? I remember being read, "James & the Giant Peach". hehe. It's just funny to me that I'm in the same place but now doing adult things. It's lil things that make you see how much you have grown up.

I over did it a little today, so I'm looking forward to step stooling my way into bed. I want to get better as quick as possible, but I have to wait and not push it. Til Tomorrow

Ohh & a word of advice for today. Keep the Halloween candy OUT OF REACH! BEWARE OF THE FUN-SIZED TREATS!!!

Just kidding. A serving size is actually 2 lil baggies so that's not too too bad. =P

You're home now, Peggy Sue.

Everytime I've come back from college, a long trip, a hard day at school, or the hospital my dad says to me, "You're home now Peggy Sue" like in the movie "Peggy Sue got Married". In the movie her mom says it to her because she looks she's gone through the hells of the earth to get back to her highschool years & home. I'm not sure why or when my dad started saying that line in my life but he did it on Friday when my parents took me home from the hospital.

Well I'm home from the hospital and I'm okay. =) Having any form of surgery is a hard thing to endeavor. It seems in the past 2 years I've done it all. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed Jan. 08', then 3 fibroids removed from my right boob in Aug. 08', and now my gall bladder removed in Oct. 09'. Whooosh. I'm tired from it all. It's an emotional tiredness that's really hard to expain. Perhaps it's more the weight of maturity that I'm mistaking as tiredness? But honestly because of the other ones, this one was a little easier. Easier in the sense that I knew the sequence of the events. You have to change into the gown, you have to meet the nurses, the anesthesologist comes in and OUCH that always will hurt when you get the IV, then you go into the surgery room. Also forget about all the ER shows you watch on TV. It's NOTHING like that in real life. While the nurse is checking your blood pressure they do not discuss their dates last night. It's all business. Business to the end.

The surgeon actually did something absolutely mind-blowing amazing that I have to share. From everything in my life I've learned that you need to be calm in these situations. The nurses treat you better, they don't treat you like a child, and they let you know exactly what's going on. I tried so hard to remain calm. Well right before the surgery they had to switch my IV from my left arm to my right and I guess I made a "I'm in pain" face and the surgeon held my other hand for the minute. I was balled-over. I had only met the guy once before this day and yes he did come highly recommended I still didn't exspect this lil moment of pure kindness. He held my hand for about a minute while they finished preparing me. He made me feel like, "Woa, this is going to be okay". I can't wait to tell him on Thrusday when I have my follow-up appointment how nice that was that he did that.

I can't wait to get back into the swing of my life. It sucks just laying in bed like an otter or a beached whale. I've felt like a Thanksgiving turkey for the past few days. My tummy is a lil swollen from everything but I do feel better. It never occured to me that I'd have problems getting in and out of my bed. Oh yeah I forgot to mention I have a Captain's Bed with drawers underneath so the top is about 3 feet off the ground. I've had to use a step stool to get in & out bed. It's laughable in a way. lol. The things you take for granted til your sick. For example, sitting up in a bed. It's ridicolously hard to sit up when you got a bandaged tummy. But it's getting better as the days go on. It's only been 3 days so it'll take a lil time.

Tomorrow I'm going to return to Blogging land, cuz I can finally sit. I can't wait to catch up on everyone's blog. I really from the bottom of my heart want to say Thank you for your comments on my last post & all the others before. I checked this today and read them all and I just felt so much care from you guys and really it means the world. Thank you once again. <3

I've been told I'm a fiesty lil cookie and Oh yes, I am. A gall bladder issue isn't going to let me down. But I just wanted to add, if any of you every feel like you just feel right physically...Go to the Doctor. Okay? =)

I'll be back...

So apparently I pricked my finger on the spindle wheel and will have to sleep for a lil while. Tomorrow I going to have my surgery on my gall bladder, and the next few days I'll need to rest a bit. I took off tomorrow & next week from work so I'll have more than enough time to heal & recover. I apologize for not getting to comment everybody today and the next few days, it's been really hectic planning everything today & yesterday but I can't wait to come back and see what everyone has been up to. I'll be back on Sunday.

It's surreal. I know I've been talking about it all week & my side hurts but it's still like Oh this is happening?? I'm actually tired so this is a good thing. I'll just go to sleep tonight and then I'll be refreshed for tomorrow. Yeah. That's a good plan.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the words & wishes of encouragement. It means so much and has helped me just be calm about this. I can't wait til tomorrow is over, but knowing that there are people rootin for ya it makes it so much easier. THANK YOU!! <3

Til Sunday...

I couldn't have asked for a better time.

So...my new favorite band is called Dommin. OH MY GOD I had a FANTASTIC Time yesterday!! It was Geek Fan Girl Moments the whole entire night! hehehe. The above picture is me with the band members. I think we got the "Dress all in Black" Memo huh? =) Here is the link to their website if you want to check them out: Dommin

It just so happened that when we were trying to figure out where the concert hall we saw the band talking to a crowd and Bam! the guys started chatting with us, and I explained how I had the biggest crushes on them & that I loved your music and they were so cute about it. They smiled, gave me hugs, the one on my right gave me a kiss on the cheek(Yes I really didn't wanna wash my face for like ever after that!!!), and the band was just so calm & cool. They thanked us for coming back to see them & Just Woa. Ironically this was before the actual concert!!!

My face was so beat red from blushing about them. (I'll admit I got a guilty pleasure of liking hot musician goth guys). The concert set they did was absolutely amazing. They did a rock cover of, "Died in Your Arms tonight"(Ya know that 80's song) that I can't stop listening to the audio file the Mess made me. I grooved and jammed and even the Mess(who doesn't really dance) he even was bopping along. Some people don't like live music shows but there's nothing like seeing a band you like and your right up front and seeing along with them. <3. Honestly my ears are still ringing tho, but it was worth it.

After the rest of the bands played, Dommin came back out and chatted with us some more. They signed me and the Mess's CD's & our posters. See I love bands that love their fans!! What's the point of liking a band if they don't respect their fans ya know? It makes the experience just so much better and I just left the concert with a huge smile on my face.

I needed this. I needed this so much. The gall bladder issue really just creeped up out of no where and I just needed to relax. Sometimes everything just falls on ya all at once and I'm just so grateful I had this lil chance to come up for some air.

I had the Mess with me too, and last night he was the Rocking Awesome guy that I love to go with to concerts, conventions, & all the lil random things him and I sometimes go do. We had our lil Geek-Out moments, he loves the band too btw, and we walked back to the train station like in states of shock because the night was so amazing. It seems every time him and I go do something like this something spectacular happens and it just rules. I can't get over the fact that we chilled with the band before & after the concert!!! I have such a cute picture of him and I and I would absolutely Omg love to post it, but I'm sorry I gotta keep some secrecy here because he knows too many people. Things are a roller-coaster with him and I but as long as I got this guy that will go do these amazing things with me...I still love him.

I'm exhausted tho. I had to go to Pre-Op this morning at 8:30am when I had gotten in at 2:00am. Yeah, I'm not running on much sleep and they took blood this morning. I think I'm not really giving myself time to process things about the surgery but I think it's a good thing. I cleaned my room tonight so people can easily get in and out of my bedroom on Friday. I'm going to be okay. I just gotta keep telling myself that and thank you all of you for giving me some extra strength. =) You're friends and that's beautiful. Just Beautiful. Times like this you need a shoulder and even if it's a *Cyber* one it still there, and that means the world. So nighty night everyone. Sweet Dreams

This is the lead singer Kris Dommin & me! I <3 them!

Does anyone have any cool band/concert stories that you will never forget? I would love to hear them.

Well Here Goes Nothing...

In this adorable scene from one of my favorite scenes in the movie, "Lilo & Stitch", Stitch places his finger on the record player and the music of Elvis plays through his mouth instead of the record player. The "Awww" sound I made tonight I think could probably be heard through all of Rockland County. I'm a sucker for cutesy Disney movies.

Tomorrow tho, I'll have real music to listen to & I hope I'm not too close to the speakers. I'm going to see the band, "Dommin" that I spoke of before. The only way to describe them is Gothic Lounge Rock. They sound like lounge singers but dressed all in black & there's a guitar. I like them a lot. My music taste is so various that it's almost ridicolous. My "Mix Cd's"............I REALLY HOPE NEVER LEAVE MY CAR!!! For example it goes Aerosmith to Carrie Underwood to Backstreet Boys to Garbage to Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Faith Hill to Rhianna to Celine Dion to Pat Benatar to Cascada to VNV Nation to yeah think of something random...I'll have it. =)

What's your favorite song you rock out to in your car? Hey that's why there's air conditioning so you don't have to put the windows down & there's always heat. =)

The concert is in New York City. (Google Images for picture) I live about 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge, but surprisingly I don't get into the city as much as I should! And I'm going with the guy I call the Mess, my Brown Eyed Mr. Big. I know. I've come to the conclusion about him that he would not come get me in Paris if I was there with the wrong man. I'm not going to air his dirty laundry here but trust me from past people (Not Me) I don't think he'd come get me or say, "Your the One." I'm sad about it, but if I clear him out of my head in a romantic way maybe I'll see someone else. Moreover I'm back to being Julia Roberts with the lavender dress like in "My Best Friends Wedding" I think.

But he may do "The Switch". I'm now referring to his actions as "The Switch". One day he'll be mean, one day he'll be my best friend, another day he'll be cuddling with me on the couch on a cold wintery day, yet another day the switch will happen to ignoring me, then...It'll all start again. With my surgery coming up this week, I can't keep playing these games. It's been 3 years, I think that's enough time to realize it's not going anywhere. After this I'm going to try to distance myself so I'm not so available, but I will admit I will put on my eye-liner and my lil black corset tomorrow and hope maybe he'll say, "Wow you look pretty tonight." But...I won't hold my breath on it.

All I can think of is that girl from the song, "Stupid" by Sarah Mclachlan. She is trapped in a love and she's trying to keep herself from... "falling into old familiar shoes." I'm going to try too not to fall.

So Off to the New York City for me tomorrow, by train(I love train rides). It should be interesting. I'll take pictures at the concert.

Health Update: I did find a surgeon, and my surgery to remove my gall bladder will be this Friday. The doctor explained everything so I'm better feeling about it. I'm calm about it, but I think I have to stay calm so my parents don't freak out, which is in turn keeping me calm. I hope it lasts. Thank you for all your words of encouragement with going through the surgery. It means so much. So much that words just can't describe. =) Til Wednesday...

Thanks for making me a...Fighter.

This post is a reminder to everyone to never give up on your dreams & be happy. Now I don't mean to fight physically, I mean within yourself make sure you don't forget who are you are, who you want to be & make sure your actions show it. If your tired of getting walked on, then say something about it. If your job is beating you up 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, go out and look for that next opportunity. If you want to wear those cute lil red shoes even tho it kinda doesn't match your shirt, Go for it, if it'll make you happy. If you want to go on that trip you've been dying to go to since you were little, start today saving up that money to go. If you can't stand to look at that painting you've had over your mantle-piece for years, go out and get a new painting; one that will make you smile. If you want to go to Space Camp like the guy in the movie, "Stranger than Fiction", get some brochures today...

My motivation for this piece is life. Sometimes it's really going to throw you a curve ball & there is no U-turn to look for. I found out I have to have my gall bladder removed. Once again I'm going to be back looking for surgeons, doing the prep work, & sitting back in recovery. Last year I had 3 fibroids (non-cancerous tumors) removed from my right breast so I know this drill. It's a hard thing for somebody to go through and this extra stress is not something I've been looking forward to. But for now, I'm okay with this. We'll find a good doctor, a good hospital, & maybe it'll make me feel better about things without a constant pain in my side (physically & mentally). Tomorrow I'm going to start calling doctors. I am upset but I'm trying to just stay calm because it means 2-3 weeks of recovery which means I will have to take off of work. However that is something I have to say I'm looking forward too because I'm hoping it'll give me time to do somethings I've been wanting to do. I used to do a craft a week, I have a few books I want to read ( esp. Lovely Bones), some DVDs I've bought that I haven't watched yet, and just some much needed sleep. But for now...it's a waiting game til I know more information about when, what doctor, what hospital etc...Sigh. *Waiting once again*

"When life gives you apples, make a pie." Or is that saying about lemons??? I'm not sure. But life has definitely given me a few apples this week so I made an apple pie with my mom. I'm going to try and do things that make me happy all week & remind me that I will fight and that everything is going to be okay. I go to demos because I don't know how to cook, but now I can say I know how to make apple pie. =) It's uber easy. I just had a piece & I'm going to bed with a smile on my face.

So I hope all of you do at least one thing tomorrow that will make you happy & make you have happy thoughts & that you can go to bed with a smile. You can do it. "We can do it."- Rosie the Riveter. I know you have it in you to be happy, so make sure you remember that happiness is worth fighting for. <3

Title is a quote from Christina Aguilera's song, "Fighter". Love that song.

If you don't have a Halloween Costume...Here's Some Last Minute Tips!!

In case this above picture happens or if you don't want to be a Bee for Halloween or a Nurse or a Alice In Wonderland....What is there left to be??? Simple Answer: Anything you want to be.

There is the beauty of something called Creativity, where you can take an idea and spin it exactly the way you want it. Especially on Halloween night. For example Last Halloween I got commissioned to be Harley Quinn to help out a Batman & a Joker.

Well, I knew that due to "Dark Knight" I was going to see a lot of lil girl jester outfits. I was not going to wear the jester outfit. I didn't have the money or the body. So I took the basic principles of her costume and used it to my advantage. I knew I had to have red & black fabric, a black mask, & a clown collar. With those 4ingredients I looked around my closet & examined what I had. In my closet I found:
1.)A Black Corset from Charlotte Russe
2.)A Red Corset from Charlotte Russe
3.)A black skirt with netting on it from Hot Topic
4.)A Renaissance Faire Mask
5.)White fabric from my mom's fabric stash

Using these items I had I created this using an inspiration from "Project Runway":

I unlaced each corset & then combined the two halves. It made this:

Then I put red tool over the black netting in the skirt.

My mom made the collar, I painted my face white, I sprayed my hair red, & then added the mask. I was now a dark realistic creative version of Harley Quinn.

So What can you do to have a great Halloween costume that is Creative & Totally Diffferent!!

1.) Look at what you have in your own closet!! You maybe able to use some pieces like I did!
2.) Think of your favorite movie, or your favorite character from a show & look up some pictures of scenes or outfits they wore.
3.) Actually go to the Costume shops and look at the store bought costume & say, "Oh I could do much better than that!!!" Then go somewhere else & buy some pieces of that you could manipulate. (I'm sry if any of you work in a costume store, I'm not trying to take away your business.)
4.) Think of a historical figure that inspires you....perhaps Mare Antionette?
5.) A wig can make allllllll the difference & they are cheap.
6.) Group costumes are so UNDER-rated. They can be alot of fun, original, & people will go "Omg I can't believe you guys did that!!!"

Now here are some ideas I thought of & have seen in the past.

1.) Audrey Hepburn: Get that black dress you know you have out of your dusty closet, buy some white gloves, get a white belt, maybe some white pearls, get some eye-liner, put your hair in a bun, & buy a cigarette holder. There ya go.

2.)Barbie Get out that old prom dress you might still have, Tease up your hair, put on tons of make-up, & some pink heels. You now have Whatever theme Barbie you want. If it's an elegant prom dress be Holiday Edition Barbie. lol. If you want to really spice it up make a cardboard box to be the Barbie Box around you??

3.)Resvoir Dogs If you know a group of guys that are stuck on an idea, mention this. Guys usually have that one suit they never wear. Well in the Resvoir Dogs they were Mr. Black, Mr. Pink, Mr. White....etc. The guys can wear the suits & can put the a piece of fabric in the pocket so you can see what character they are. Or they can be the agents from the Matrix.

4.)Your Alter-Ego: I got this idea from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" TV Show. Dress up as your alter-ego. If you are a straight-laced person, well get a leather jacket & be a punk-rock princess. If you are a lawyer, be a sexy judge (Do something with your graduation gown maybe if you still have it). If your a doctor, be a cany-striper. If your a teacher be a school girl. This is where you can be really creative & your friends will be like, "Woa, Kudos on that costume."

Even if you buy a store costume, make sure it's something you will enjoy. That's the point of Halloween: Enjoy Yourself & Your Friends. Good luck with your costume hunting! I'm going to be a dark lil red riding hood. Mwahahahaha. I plan on putting extra ghoulish goodies in the basket I'm going to carry. Can't Wait!!

I hope maybe one of those tips may help ya! =)

Take me Away...A Sweet Escape....

Today I messed up the program, erased the GPS directions, shut off the phone and went out into the world. A.K.A. I played hookie from work. I have personal days left for the year so I took one. The greatest thing was to sleep late. To actually sleep without any disruption, not even the lawn-mower guys outside, was absolute bliss. People tell me, "Oh sleep on the weekends." Well, that is easier said then done. I'm not sure if it's even possible to sleep in on the weekends because everyone knows the "weekends" are usually full of the errands & the people calling & all the stuff you needed to get down during the week so that 48 hours is gone with a blink. But today was a breather.

Sometimes you get soooo completely sucked into your auto-pilot routine that you just need to be let out of the cage for a lil while. So I decided to go drive over my first bridge today. Yes, I am 24 but I've only had my drivers' license for 2 years, so I've actually never driven over a bridge. Well the damn bridge cost me 5 bucks!! lol. I drove over the Tappan Zee Bridge today. It's a 3 mile long bridge in Southern New York. I got over the bridge and then got lost for about a half hour. Key thing I learned today: "DON'T GET OFF MAJOR HIGHWAYS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE!!!" Luckily I was on a mountain so I just tried to get back to streets where I could see water, maybe it would get me back to the bridge. It did, eventually lol.

Just driving around aimlessly tho really cleared my head. I just felt better, like Yeah! Ya know what I can handle all this. Does anyone ever drive around to relax?? It was glorious too. Just to be free for a bit. Also I got to see all the trees turning red. That's my favorite part of fall.

Now the fun part. hehe. I went to the mall & shopped. I felt just like Cher in "Clueless".. Did you know that during the weekday there is like NO ONE AT THE MALL!! Omg I thought like there was a zombie attack and people luckily NEVER saw "Dawn of the Dead" so they didn't get the mall memo. I tried on like 50 Halloween costumes & finally found one!!! I'm going to be a Dark Lil Red Riding Hood. Here I am in it:

I'm going to jazz it up tho. My mom is going to take in the top a bit & I'm going to dye my hair black & put some red highlights in it. Also I have these black high boots that will work & get a lil basket. I also picked up these adorable pair of Liz Claibourne shoes.

I may not be able to afford Prada or Manolo Blahnik just yet, but these are designer enough for me. <3. I like that they look vintage & 50's. They are flats so that made them more enticing.

Sigh, I have to go back to work tomorrow but it's okay. It's okay because things are going to change. Getting away today, relaxing, and knowing that there are people(You Guys) that are going through similar things helps me see a light. I told my mom, "Omg I got comments and people are going through the same thing I am!! That's so cool!" She responded, "I think this blogging was a real good idea for you". I've said this before but sometimes you really need to know you're not the only one. SO thank you, wholeheartedly.

No Outlet.

It came to my realization that I'm actually at a few Dead Ends in my life, I think. However this maybe because I couldn't eat or drink today for 6 hours & your brain can get a lil fuzzy. You may think you can be like, "Oh it's not that bad, it's only 6 hours"...Um I was wrong. I have a really big headache. I had to go today for an ultrasound of my gall bladder. I might have aggravated it or might have gall stones or I'm not sure what yet. I couldn't eat or drink for the test. They unfortunately didn't even give me any info they just took pictures so I'll know eventually if I'll have to get it removed or just watch my diet. *Waiting* I've been eating so many veggies lately from all of this I'm starting to feel like a bunny. lol.

Which brings me back to the dead end. Have you ever sat at your desk at work and say to yourself, "What am I doing here?? This job is a dead end?" Or have you ever sat staring at a guy that some part of you loves but in that moment where he is being an asshole you say once again, "What am I doing here?? He will never change. This is such a dead end!" Or looked at your messy room & say "Woa I gotta get my own place."? I did all 3 of those yesterday.

I know I gotta wait to move out a lil while longer & I am totally okay with that fact. But the other 2...You have to change things to move on. Sometimes things need to happen to make you realize "Oh I have to do something different to change this." Like today, I Had to go get my gall bladder checked out so I can get better. It's not just going to miraculously get better. Like I didn't know olives & coffee (yes, coffee) & soda & fatty foods can upset your gall bladder. I, no matter what the verdict is, will have to change to my diet. Well if I don't go out & look for a new job, one is not going to fall into my lap. If I don't let it go or confront the Mess, nothing is ever going to change. Ironically he was mean to me, then called me the next day to see how the doctors went like he cared? The confusion of that boy alone is a dead end. lol. So, I'll be needing the motivation to push myself forward.

I'll admit I was the kid in college who always waited to the last minute to finish the term papers & essays. The deadline made me do it, sorta speak. I kept putting it off but I knew I'd do it eventually because I had to finish it. With my job, I've reached that point where I need to do something else. With the Mess I need to either have a fight, not be scared of it, or I need to just walk away. So perhaps if I set deadlines then I'll HAVE to sort things through.

Have any of you tried that? Setting deadlines to help you do something??

I'm going to take off tomorrow of work to sleep a bit & put my head back on straight. The stress of not knowing about my gall bladder is driving me a lil crazy. I had surgery to remove fibroids from my right breast a year ago so I've been through these hectic, "not knowing" days before. It still is stressful. All I can say with that is, if you feel pain anywhere in your body GO TO THE DOCTOR!! I can't tell people that enough.

To lighten this lil post I wanted to throw in some Halloween spirit. It's ridiculous that stores now have Christmas stuff up already!!!!! So here's a dash of Halloween. I collect "Nightmare before Christmas" stuff and I was lucky to find these two gems for $5 each. It's Jack Skellington with his figuring out Christmas table play-set & an Oogie Boogie Plush doll that is uber soft!!!! =)

Please Pack Your Knives & Go.

Today the Cocoa Cola Girl went to her lil free demo class at Williams Sonoma. I wonder if they are going to do these during the holiday season?? Today's demo was on knives. I'm a lil skittish around knives. Always have been. When your little you learn three cardinal rules, 1.) Don't play with the stove, 2.)Don't play with matches, and 3.) Don't play with knives. Well I think I forgot to upgrade the third one. lol.

I learned a few interesting facts that I would love to share with you. I've always heard on the TV shows, "Top Chef" & "Iron Chef" that the knives make the chefs. That's totally true. You can't just go in a store & buy a knife set. There are different types for different purposes. There are Serrated Knives, Pairing Knives, Santoku knives, Japense knives and of course many more. And when it says, "Medium Dice" they actually mean dice it to a medium size. When following a recipe you actually have to follow the sizes of dices. A dice is the lil cubes of garlic, or potato or any yummy ingredient. You need the right size because it depends on cooking time. If you need a large dice in a stew and you cut small dices, your potato will be soggy in the stew because it cooked too fast. Did not know that!!

There wasn't much to the demo. This is was the first one that was more of a, "Buy this product." My eyes are still watering from when the lady cut the onions. Her main advice to people buying knives was buy at least a Chef's Knife & a Pairing Knife. A Chef's knife is a knife you cut a turkey with & a Pairing Knife is small which is used for cutting tomatoes, onions, radishes, etc.

Also ALWAYS SHARPEN YOUR KNIFE!! The odds are actually greater of getting cut from a dull knife, then a sharp knife. Also when you are slicing & dicing make sure you're cutting on a level surface. Even cut your potato or tomato perhaps into a square shape so you don't have to work with a wobbly opponent. And curl your non cutting hand so you don't have your hand flat where it can be easily cut. I was hoping to learn how to like make a rose out of a radish but I think I have to take a real class for that.

Well for heavy duty Knife skills maybe I'll just watch "Kill Bill Vol.1" for some inspiration. I'm sure a Hattorio Honzo sword will do the trick. =P.

This is going to be a hard week for me. I have a lot to do & none of it is easy. Rose-colored glasses off, and Grown-Up Face on. I spoke of change and nothing is going to change unless I do something. I think I'm ready. Well, I have to be ready. I'll explain more tomorrow...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd like to take a minute to thank the lovely lady over at Dustjacket Attic for giving me my first award, the Kreativ Blogger Award. This made me soo happy!!! I'm going to follow the rules now. I have to tell you 7 things you didn't know about me & pass it to 7 people!

7 things you didn't know about me:

1.) I went to Catholic school til 6th grade.

2.) I actually was the Captain of my high school Cheerleading Squad. And was the most unpopular cheerleader ever. Yeah, Taylor Swift hunny, sometimes the "Cheer Captain" doesn't get the guy either.

3.) I'm terrified of the E.T. Ya know the alien movie with the plant, Drew Barrymore, the E.T. Phone home? I'm petrified of that movie. I actually will run out of a room and scream if it's on the TV.

4.) I love train rides. I always feel like I'm going to some other world and it's just so relaxing.

5.) I believe in Past Lives. I've met too many people & on that first meeting I've felt like I've known them forever or some time before. And there are definitely things you just can't explain.

6.) I can play the piano, but I can't read sheet music. Maybe I'm dyslexic or something because the notes on the pages just get all scrambled to me, but my grandmothers both taught me how to play by ear.

7.) When I was 8, I accidentally bumped the actress Brooke Shields with the door at Planet Hollywood in Atlantic City. She had walked in before me, and I pushed the door into her back. SORRY BROOKE!! I had no idea who she was at the time.

I'd like to pass on this award to 7 people:

Carpe Diem
Modern Dreamer
Simply Colette
The GREEN in me
Wandering Thoughts of a Scientific Housewife
I know, right?
Life in Quotations

Thanks again!!!

Just a Few Random Tricks & Treats

I can't resist the signs that say, "Antique Sale Today." lol. I picked up this lil gem today. The man said it was from the 1950's and OMG she was soo dirty. I was going to take a picture of how dirty she was but it just didn't come out good in the picture. All I did was just put some water on a cotton swab. The dirt came right off. I understand that people don't want to clean their antiques they want to sell because if the paint comes off who's going to want to buy it? But in all honesty the man could have gotten at least $15 out of me for her if she was all cleaned up. I only paid $6. Not bad. =)I like the lil fan in her hand.

I want to have a make-up table one day in my future bedroom, or when I'm married & have a master suite. This painting is the "The Lady at her Dressing Table" by Gerrit Dou. I think it's beautiful. Hopefully I can put this lil antique lady on my vanity table one day. Also I'm going to need a lot of book-shelves, china closets, and display stuff because Damn I have a lot of trinkets. hehe.

Ever feel like your week just flew? Just flew right by? I feel like I blinked and it was Saturday. It probably didn't help that I just slept all afternoon. But some days you need to just sit and reboot. Like charging your cell-phone. If you use your cell phone while it's charging it won't hold the charge. It's important to take a break from the auto-pilot that is your daily routine.

I'm stuck on a Halloween costume idea so I'm going to go see if I can get some ideas tonight by walking around the mall. I already helped someone make a Barbie costume, and someone make a Heman Skeletor costume. Last year I made my own Harley Quinn costume. I was inspired actually by Project Runway Season 5. I didn't do the typical Jester outfit I made mine out of a black corsette put together with a red corsette & altered a black skirt I had. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! I think I'm going to a post about the process later in the week. I was in a whole Batman group too with 3 of my guy-friends.

Here's a picture from last Halloween:

How do you top that for this Halloween???

Well perhaps the Mall will give me some inspiration for Halloween...

Tomorrow I have the Williams-Sonoma demo of Knife Lessons. Dum Dun Dun.... I'll learn how to use knives to make garnishes. Oooo...I'm excited. It should be fun. I'll report back here tomorrow. =)
